beancounter
Not a big find (and I am sorry is this old news - I never saw this posted anywhere else) but you can create your own 2da file and have other 2da files use it. This is useful if you want to create your own attack BAB table or saving throw tables. For instance I have always hated that the Sentiels attack table because it was the same as the counsular's attack table. They are supposed to be a middle of the road class - not as good at combat as the Guardian and not as good as the Counsular in Force Powers. Instead they have the BAB of a counsular and the Force Power progression of the Guardian. Not very middle of the road in my opinion, more like the worst of both worlds. So what you need to do is open the 2da cls_atk_1 and make your changes. I set mine so that the BAB at level 20 was 18 - a good middle of the road value. I then saved the 2da as cls_atk_4.2da. Next open the 2da file classes and change the Sentiel's attackbonustable to CLS_ATK_4. You can also change the Force Power progression of the Sentiel in the table classpowergain. I set mine so the Sentiel gained extra force powers at levels 8 and 15. The end result: a level 20 Sentiel will have a BAB of 18, instead of the Counsular's 15 and gain two more extra force powers then the Guardian. I think that is a more middle of the road character. I might release a mod for it, but it so simple to do. Enjoy.
Darkkender
well I would say this is going to be useful information for myself jatku for the Pen aNd Paper mod. But I'm guessing your not familiar with the d20 role playing system from the change you made. the reason is they use a base five system for there character classes hence you find one class at 20th lvl with a BAB of 20 and the other with 15 and the another which probably isn't used is 10. I think part of the middle of the road factor in game balance terms is thought to be the fact that they lack the bonus feats that the guardian gets which can make you pretty beafy in comparison but they have the the Full BAB of the guardian with the extra powers of the counsler which does balance out as middle of the road. But I can't say I blame you, unless I come up with the D20 resource that has the jedi sentinel jatku is probably going to replace it with the force adept which would disapoint all IMHO. beancounter
I am not very familar with the pen and paper verison, the extent of my knowledge is what I have seen posted in the Bioware forums. The Sentiel changes I gave was simply an example of how to create your own brand new 2da. There is a cls_atk_1 which has a BAB of 20, a cls_atk_2 which has a BAB of 15 and a cls_atk_3 which has a BAB of 10. I was just trying to show that you can create your own new 2da file(there is no cls_attk_4) in the stock game. I would have to say that knocking the BAB of the counsular down to a 10 at level 20 would seriously nerf that class.
Darkkender
yes it would nerf it even in the PNP Star wars. Although I do wonder what is using the base attak 10 category. Unless that is what T3 is using since the scout and scoundrel also have 3/4 BAB or 15 at 20th lvl. I might suggest if you wanted to have an easy portability when multiclassing into sentinel you adjust the scout to your new category since the scout becomes the sentinel sort of.
