Welcome to the forums. Here is the differences:

Instant Action:

This is a map where you can just jump straight into a battle and is the only mode that is online.

Galactic Conquest:

Is a mode which can go for hours and hours rying to take over al the planets. Certain planets have certain bonuses such as Tatoine is the one for the jedi bonus which enables you to call down the jedi for your side. These are:

Count Dooku(Droids/Seperatists/CIS)

Luke Skywalker(Rebels)

Darth Vader(Imperials/Empire)

Mace Windu(Clone Army)

Historical Campaign:

This is a mode where you can choose which time era either 123 or 456. You play the maps in order so if you choose 456 you would play Tatooine,Yavin IV,Rhen Var(I think),Hoth,Bespin,Endor.

Sry, but you are wrong Evil. ALL the modes are ONLINE, not just instant action. You're going to have a game of galactic conquest over the internet, and it will be awesome. And the Historical Campaign, is where you play through EVERYTHING in order, and with the winning group. So you will play as Imps on Hoth, and Rebs on Endor. It will start in Ep. 1, with Naboo I guess, and end with ep. 6, I suppose thats Endor. And I dont think Rhen Var will be part of the campaign. It was never talked about in the movies, so it would be kinda wierd to have it. And where did you see that Tattoine was the planet with the Jedi bonus? :p

To get things together ;). We don't know if all modes will be online, it wasn't officially stated yet, so we can just speculate, basing on conflicting info from previews (unless i've missed something ;)). Personally i guess historical campaign won't be in, but it would be a real shame if loudly advertised Galactic Conquest was only single player feature (personally i don't care much about sp part of definetely mp games).

As for the planets it has been stated by devs that there are four single-location planets assgned to given era: Geonosis, Kamino, Hoth and Endor. The rest will be avaliable in both time periods and they will consist of two battlefields each.

As for Tatooine being jedi bonus planet it was said in some early reviews, that if rebels conquer it they get Luke, while imps get Vader. Actually it makes sense as Tatooine is home planet of both ;).

Dont remeber where, but I think I remeber Galactic Conquest being officialy stated. Not sure about Historical Campaign, but it would be cool. And ya, I guess Tatooine does make sense, Id just never heard of it, or seen it with the prequel series chracters. Maybe I just missed something. O well no matter what... THIS GAME WILL OWN!!! :D

i think historical campaign is where you only play the battles from the movies. so no rhen var, kashyyyk, bespin, etc. so i f you picked rebs or imps youd do yavin, hoth, then endor

No, in the historical campaigns you shift sides while playing. This would mean you won't pick a side. And why wouldn't Kashyyyk and Bespin be in it? There were battles on those planets in the movies III and V.
