SoyGreen
Does anyone know the minimum system requirements for running a dedicated server? I cannot seem to find them ANYWHERE. I'm assuming the computer running the server software does not need to meet the actual requirements that the game would. Any help would be appreciated! Canine
Hope this helps... I'm running a dedicated server on an Athlon 750 (768MB PC133). With TPS set to 15, two people and 10 bots it's fine. TPS 20 and 30 are unplayable even with one person and fewer bots. This box also runs my mail, web, ftp, etc. So the SWBF server doesn't seem to be a major cpu hog. It even seems to use significantly less CPU than Battlefield Vietnam. S31 Apoc
a 2.4 on a 10mg pipe can max out the players without bots.. easy 32 players with bots... much less than BFV
[RNGD]Tyrant
The limiting factor in your game is not really the processor but the bandwidth. A typical DSL or cable setup will never be able to handle more than 4-6 players. Even a T1 line cant handle the full 32 (let alone the max 50)
