I'm assuming the computer running the server software does not need to meet the actual requirements that the game would. Any help would be appreciated!
Canine Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Hope this helps... I'm running a dedicated server on an Athlon 750 (768MB PC133). With TPS set to 15, two people and 10 bots it's fine. TPS 20 and 30 are unplayable even with one person and fewer bots. This box also runs my mail, web, ftp, etc. So the SWBF server doesn't seem to be a major cpu hog. It even seems to use significantly less CPU than Battlefield Vietnam.

[RNGD]Tyrant Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 The limiting factor in your game is not really the processor but the bandwidth. A typical DSL or cable setup will never be able to handle more than 4-6 players. Even a T1 line cant handle the full 32 (let alone the max 50)
