Well, no there aren't, but no need to go off like a sailor I just doubt it'll be that good of a game. Ergo, I won't buy it until it's cheap. Or if there's really no other games coming out for a long period of time (Xmas time, though? Please!).

toms Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 calm down tie... everyone expects it to be a good game, they are just wary of getting caught up too much in the hype.... i can't see how it will ever live up to the idea you have built up of it so, ironically, the rest of them will probably end up enjoying it more than you... As for PC Gamer UK, they are notorious (at least with me:D ) for giving vastly inflated scores to their "world exclusive" cover reviews... I figure that is why they get so amny of them, cos the studios know that they will give the game a great review whatever. I seem to remember they gave JO about 95% and even force commander about 85%. (The FC one was funny as you could tell that they knew it was mostly rubbish, but were desperately trying to find good things to say about it. ) Before you get upset, i'm not saying it won't be great, just that i wouldn't base that opinion of early review scores (especialy PCGUK).

And there is a big difference between overrated and sucky, overrated means that people say it's the best game EVAH/its perect when it really isn't, and it has flaws, sucky means....it sucks. I've never said HL2 is gonna suck, I never said Halo, HL, GE sucked, I just said they were overrated. They ARE great games, people just say they're perfect too much and overlook some glaring mistakes, example: Halo's indoor levels repetitiveness, I mean who the **** designs a building with only 3 different rooms and just repeats them over and over, and over again. I mean even the enemy placement is the same.

Depending on peoples reactions I may buy the game soon after release or just try the demo to see if I want to get it. (Probably buy it soon after release)

I'm not counting on it though, when they say minimum they usually mean, you can play it with all the settings off at 2FPS. I'll be waiting for a demo before i decide which pack to buy.

jokemaster Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Lemme say this though, Metal Arms I saw: ONE ad in game informer, one ad on IGN.com, HL2, I've seen thousands of ads in magazines AND I've seen some on non-gaming-websites, so it's getting way more hype.
