Jekyll
Iv heard lots of stories about ATI cards recieving a 70 fps penelty when dynamic lighting is switched on. However I still plan to buy the ATI radeon X800 XT PE 256mb card. Whilst most games should run smoothly under this, will JKA begin to wheeze and gasp when I switch on lighting? In other words does the dynamic lighting bug effect all the ATI cards or just the lower end 1s, and would it really be much better getting an nVidia card? Better yet, why hasn't Raven fixed this obvious problem which I doubt would take much to fix. Any help would be much appreciated, as obviously I don't want to waste my money when JKA is the main game i play. Thx
Amidala from Chop Shop
If you go to the LucasArts technical support forums http://forums.lucasarts.com/category.jspa?categoryID=3 you will see several people reporting problems using ATI cards with several different LucasArts games, and fewer complaints from nVidia card owners. I don't think you can blame Raven for the fact that ATI makes buggy drivers.
iamtrip
I run 9800 se and works just fine. If you play D3, not that the game is designed for nvidia cards, with ati performing slightly below nvidia. Based on technology and drivers, I'd take ati over nvidia anyday. Crow_Nest
The 9600XT performs better than my old 5700 Ultra in JA. It hardly drops a frame on most levels. But most NVIDIA chipsets are cabable of reaching higher FPS such as 80 or more.
