misc_turret & misc_G2turret

I'd really like to know wether anybody can help me out on this one.

The misc_turrent and misc_G2turrent entities place some NPC static turrets.

Now what I wonderd about was the location of their model files.

 

I browsed the whole assets but couldn't find anything.

 

NOw if anyone could tell me where those are stored ... that would be neat. :D

misc_turret:

models/map_objects/hoth/turret_bottom.md3 - bottom of turret

models/map_objects/hoth/turret_base.md3 - top of turret

 

misc_turretG2:

models/map_objects/imp_mine/turret_canon.glm - standard turret model

models/map_objects/imp_mine/turret_damage.md3 - destroyed turret model

models/map_objects/wedge/laser_cannon_model.glm - turbolaser battery

 

NOTE: misc_turretG2 doesn't seem to work properly in MP.

yes I saw the bones in Modview ... but I don't have a root file.

 

Do I just have to build the model around self placed bones wich are placed at about the same coordinates as the original ones?

Maybe even add some new animations for the turrets .. It's kind of a new territory to me (the animating) but I want to advance a lil' bit.

 

But for now new models would also do fine :D

well, I beleive the issue is a matter of weighing the model correctly. But I don't understand modeling that well. I suggest you post about this in the modeling forum.
