EI 9373 Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Looks great - is it playable in Instant Action?...
EndorRebelScum Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Yea, it is, and it's great! You really did your studying! Theres the piled of Jawa's that 3po and Obi-Wan make at the Sandcrawler, theres the Lars Homestead, with fried Gonk Droid, I love it, Great Idea with the whole canyon and the small homages to the Bonta Eve! 10/10!
EI 9373 Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Good stuff! A little toooo big for my liking but new maps are being made - so I'm not complaining! :thmbup1: :thmbup1:
JediBen Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 I have the PS2 version of the game. But I like what I saw from the pictures. If the modding community continues to improve maps and provide areas gamers want to explore, this could be better than the SW Galaxies. For one thing, we don't have to put up with dancing wookies.LOL!!
BlitzWolf Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 I just finished playing it and it is very good. might want to shrink the map, takes a long time to get to a place but it is a great map. One thing that might be helpful is showing where the boundaries are. I was travelling to the center of the map and it said I was leaving the battlefield. I eventually found my way around the area but the boundaries are kind of odd.
Rends Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 Blitzwolf, your right about the boundaries when moving from outside to the canyon. But i had to include them to prevent you falling into death near the cliffs because of a few polygon errors in the canyon object. this will be fixed the time we get the XSI plugin working and then i want to delete the boundaries near the canyon.
BlitzWolf Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Cool cool. Just checkin on those. To bad you can't put a visual aid on the map so people can see where the paths they can take are.
Rends Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 when playing the map the first one or 2 times just follow the bots and you get a good overwiev where you can go and what´s possible.
Oidar Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 I love big maps. This map is now in rotation on my server and I love it. Can't wait to see the later versions of it. Excellent job.
EndorRebelScum Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Thanks for letting me play it on your server, some suggestions for a new version. bridges across the canyon a conyon where you can see mos eisley in the distance more canyons for swoop gangs SOTE!
Tyler_Durden Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Ok this is a kick ass map. The only thing is with maps of this size i think you would need more vehicles. Maybe X-wings or snow speeders as well as tie fighters. Also i think because of the size you could put about 3 speeder bikes per side to help traverse terrain faster as well as to get skillful players the more of a chance to capture control points which are a lot further away. But all in all a great map. Can't wait to see what is next.
Lionheart Lonesome Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 The Landspeeder (the one with no weapons) should be faster then the Combatspeeder (with guns)
EI 9373 Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Is there any way that after a win/loose the timeout can be halted so you can take a look around?
Rends Posted January 1, 2005 Author Posted January 1, 2005 New download link posted above! No you can´t stop the timeout counter In the next version you will see a part of Anchorhead in the Background of the Tosche Station. I also added 1 Speedbike for each fraction and era and removed the boundaries near the cliffs and a few other small fixes.
EndorRebelScum Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Oidar, when you set up your server with this, PM me because I would really like to play it online again, Thanks.
EI 9373 Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Originally posted by Rends New download link posted above! Thanks! No you can´t stop the timeout counter Is that due to game architecture or just certain levels?...
Rends Posted January 1, 2005 Author Posted January 1, 2005 Well i guess it´s hardcoded and can´t be changed. Rends
TK-8252 Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 I have some nitpicking to do... Change the LUA to have the Imperials as "imp_inf_basic" and the pilot as "imp_inf_pilotatst" instead of imp_inf_basic_tie and imp_inf_pilottie. Then you'll have the proper pilot skin. Instead of calling the Tusken Raiders and Jawas as "Tusken Raider \ Jawa", I suggest you just call them "Native" or something. And you probably already know, but the Tusken Village captive is undefined. How 'bout a few AT-AT's? You could use Saturn_V's Sandspeeder.
Rends Posted January 1, 2005 Author Posted January 1, 2005 Thx for the tip,now i have the ATST Pilot :-) Well the Tuskenvillage is only undefind in the clonewar map but not in the Civilwar one.
Rends Posted January 3, 2005 Author Posted January 3, 2005 new downloadlink added. Check first posting in this thread! It´s now also up at lucasfiles Rends
