tk102 Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 It's my understanding that appearance.2da was only appended by Obsidian and that many KotOR appearances, if switched to, will cause your PC/NPC to turn invisible and the game to crash. TLM Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 Well I haven't tried full appearances yet, but as far as heads go, Yuthura's works, as does Zeadra's (I was looking for a unique twilek ) and neither of those are, too my knowledge, ( having beaten the game once as light side so far) used in KOTOR 2. Dak Vesser Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 Yeah Some of the models aren't there any more like Mission, Jolee and Juhani. Bastila's there but she has no modela/texa which is weird because she's in the game, but when I tried to make a disguise using her appearance, the game crashed when I tried to equip the play character with it. I asked Someone on yahoo messenger why they left all the KotOR 1 characters in the 2da yet, took most of the mdls/mdxs out, he said that it's more likely, easier to just add new appearance numbers in and leave the old ones alone so they don't have to spend the extra time re-assigning them. Of course Obsidian - being pressed for time by orders from Darth Lucas, They weren't gonna go the extra mile and re-design all the 2das from scratch. Simply not enough time... I suppose it'll have a head called "Bastila", but what do I change it to... or would it be like the first game, where I find a head for a player character (what would they be named?) and just write in "BastilaHead" or whatever in its place? EDIT: Also, where do I extract it from? Go into your Appearance.2da and change one of the main Female Play Character's head number To normalhead #1. For Example, Look for: P_FEM_C_SML_01/ P_FEM_C_MED_01/ P_FEM_C_LRG_01 in appearance.2da and change the "normalhead" number from 36 to 1 on all three of them. Don't worry about the "backuphead" That way, Female (White) Character 01 (Guardian, Sentinal & Consular), will have Bastila's head. So there ya go! Do all that and save your modified appearance.2da file to the Override and start a new game, look for Bastila in the character generation. If not is there anyway to move it into the first game so that the damn cape will work right? i know this may have some law against it like the stormtrooper mod but im just wondering. You can try that if you want, assuming that kotorII will accept it, I'm not sure. Just give it the same name to what ever .txb file it is in Textures. If I'm correct, it should be"po_pfhc01.txb" So change Bastila's Picture Portrait to "po_pfhc01.tga" or .txb if you only extracted it without writing it as a Targa file.
