Guest Saturnine
This maybe a little bit odd question, but tell me, do lightsabres have a somekind of safety mechanism, that prevents the accidental activation? I mean, it would be embarassing end to a career of a jedi if you just slip on icy street, and it cuts your leg off.
Boba Rhett
Well, it depends on the particular constructer of the saber. Some have a double tap system to turn off, others turn off the moment the wielder loses contact with them and others rely on being internaly turned on by the force. I guess it really depends on how lucky that particular jedi feels.
stingerhs
umm, rhett, s/he said turning it on, not off. now, i'm not an expert, but: 1. jedi are supposed to be aware of things like that. 2. a jedi should know what it takes to turn on their lightsaber, even accidentally. i mean, come on, they did build it themselves. 3. as rhett did somewhat point out, some lightsabers can't activate unless your holding them, or you consciously activate it with the Force, which would in turn prevent it from accidentally turning on. hope that helps.
