Hi

First of all : Thank you for making this mod! The handmaiden is so much cooler thanwell you know who. ;-)

Now

I have tried the mod but have encountered a very annoying problem ( Im not sure if the mod caused it but since it is the only thing I have modified in the game I thought I should post it here)

The following happens seemingly triggered by scenes in which you do NOT control the exile ( Ive noticed it on Nar shaddar after the Mira / t3 / Gotos yacht sequence)

Some party members stop gaining XP points if they are not in the active party.

I run through the sequence several times ( yeah it was VERY annoying ) and it happened every time.

Like I said Im not even sure if this if the handmaiden mod could be involved in the problem but it would be great if someone could offer a solution.

Greetings,

Decaren

Would that also work for your Khoonda lost room and the k_enter_601.ncs script?

P.S.- I also sent you a PM, but I figured I might as well post this for compatibility reasons.

Um I haven't encountered that problem and I went through the game twice with this mod and haven't encounted any problems so if you have other mods maybe one of them is causing that other wise I don't know what to tell you

Thank you for taking time to report potential problems with the mod.

However, I believe this is a bug in how the game handles XP distribution when the Exile is not in the active party. I noticed this on my first play-through when the game was totally unmodded so I don't think this would be caused by any custom mods.

Perhaps something the upcoming game patch will fix?

This is a basic (somewhat) question, with the new patch updating the dialog files as well as others. Will this effect the Handmaiden mod? And if so will Stoffe be able to update this mod so it will not conflict with V. 1.0b of KoTOR II. I love the mod and would like to continue to use it with the new (Hopefully) fixes. I have not had the chance to test it out myself, I won't be able to until most likely this weekend (off to work I go). I will post if I find any bugs.... :D

No idea, I haven't installed the patch and I can't say that I'm in a hurry to do so either. I have not experienced any of the crash issues the patch notes speak of, and I've already fixed most broken/buggy quests I've encountered myself. So it feels a bit risky to mess with a game that's already working fine. :)

Hopefully someone with the patch will eventually post a list of all the files that've been changed. If they include any of the files modified by the FemExile/Handmaiden mod, then it might cause trouble.

Shouldn't be too hard to update those files to match their patched versions though, once I know which files are affected.

Some party members stop gaining XP points

Thanks for posting this. I have seen this myself, but definitely before loading the handmaiden mod as well as after. I usually fix it using KSE by just editing the xp of the NPCs up to the highest amongst them all if I want to use one that has been left behind.

I find the problem seems to go away after I get my prestige class anyway.

Testing this mod on the patched version of Telos now...

When I entered the academy, it said 'light side points gained' after I said I'd lower my weapons, and I had to go up and poke Atris to start the cutscene with her...

Kreia and Atton are visibly at the door to the entrance turbolift...

The cutscene with Atton talking to Kreia did not appear either.

When I attempted to talk to Atton, my options were both "cheat node" listings about continuing conversation with Kreia or jumping to PC confrontation with Atris...

*checks to see if using the cheat node works*

Nope. It runs through the Atris conversation again, and dies out.

*tries to find T3 and see if that pokes it*

Trying to talk to t3 now is causing him to give me his 'default' dialogs from the Ebon Hawk...

The mod is incompatible with the patch.

From reading other forums, it appears that this is a glitch with the patch itself and not caused by any third party mods that are installed.

If what I've read is correct it depends on what you say when you are first confronted by the Handmaidens upon entering the academy. If you pick the option to immediately put down your weapons this would happen.

If you still have a save just prior to entering the Academy, I would appreciate it a lot if you could verify if the above is true. I.e. enter and tell them you won't give up your weapons and see if the same happens.

how can they make a patch that breaks something

Developers are humans, and humans make mistakes on occasion. It wouldn't be unheard of that a developer rushing to meet a tight deadline would forget to remove a debug hook from the game. Though one would expect QA to pick such things up...

That said, as I only read this on a forum I'd like it verified before I write it of as something not caused by my modifications. The poster claimed they didn't use any mods, but it's possible they just didn't want to admit that when posting about problems in a tech support forum. :)

I'd look into it myself, but LucasArts still haven't released the UK patch for the game yet....

It is partly due to the mod. OE made some changes to the imprisonment script. This was overseen in one dialog branch by the developers. (It is the "All right. We mean no harm." answer.) This answer is broken. However, with the mod installed, none of the dialog branches will work correctly. It is easy to fix, though. Just use the patched handmaiden.dlg and reinsert the 'st_setmaidjoin' script in Reply 502. This was formerly R501.

If anyone wants to fix the developers' bug as well it isn't too difficult: Go to R464, change the script parameter for 'a_262imprison' from 0 to 1 and add a link to Entry 314.

Thank you. So both answers were apparently true. :)

Guess I'll have to toss the old mod in the trashcan and re-create all the files from the new default files in the patched game to be safe, when I can get my hands on those files. Who knows how many other similar changes they've made?

Confirmed. I looked on the Obsidan forums, and found this bug there as well. Gah. Great patch... :)

Good to hear that the fix is easy, any chance you could post a file with both of em fixed, tupac? :)

Edit:

*blinks as she sees Stoffe's post*

Yay!
