TheShady Posted March 7, 2005 Share Posted March 7, 2005 I am so sorry if this is answered sometimes (I know it has been answered yet) but I need help, links etc. First: Is it possible to merge .2da files in KotOR 2 without any conflicts? Second: After merging files, do I have 1 file left (of each name (example: upgrade.2da x2, after merging: 1x upgrade.2da) Third: Where do I get the Tools I need? Last: What EXACTLY should I do? I am stupid what depends on modding etc. Please be considerate with me. And thanks for the help! PS: If someone speaks German, please tell me in German. You can safely merge upcrystals.2da among others. Yes, you should have one upcrystals.2da after merging, since this is the whole purpose of merging. Third: Where do I get the Tools I need? Check the sticky threads in this forum. Last: What EXACTLY should I do? You should get Kotor Tool and examine the 2da files you want to merge in 2da editor (it's a part of Kotor Tool). Then you basically need to copy custom rows from one to the other and adjust their row index. That's provided you want merge upcrystals.2da and similar. The reason I ask is because many to all of the mods that use the first 3 you mentioned have already premerged 2da files to help those who don't know how. Because Redhawke like myself has premerged those for you. When an author releases his/her mod they will tell you compatibilities in the readme. This means that earlier versions of the 2da file either wrote by that author or by another engineer can be deleted or overwritten. Okay as for nequams mod the heads do not replace the default faces. Anytime you find a mod that has new pc heads and a new appearance.2da file you can pretty well assume that it is a brand new character head in addition to the stock ones. Now as to the merging of the appearance files I haven't adjusted mine for Shimaon's mod yet. As for svosh's all you need to do is change hk-47's envmap entry from DEFAULT to CM_Baremetal. For Shimaon's I believe you will need to compare it to a default appearance.2da file. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I really appreciate your help. You bored? [EDIT] Yeah! KotOR Tools is easier than I thougt! It's all so logical!! But are you sure that ALL the rows are contained in the Prestige Class Mod? Because the workbench robe thingy has 220 rows!! The Prestige class contains the same things as the workbench thingy mod but all in all it contains "only" 270 or something.
