Honestly, I could care less if people decide to use cd cracks. In fact, they can actually be helpful to some people.

 

The trouble is, they are not made or supported by LucasArts or the development team of the game. Thus they can cause problems, especially compatability with online games and with patches.

 

Thus, it's foolish to expect LucasArts or in fact anyone (except the person who created the cracks) to provide tech support.

 

If something goes wrong with your game, the FIRST thing you should check is if you're using any cracks. 9 times out of 10 people report a problem, then we find out it was the crack causing the problem all along.

 

So it's just common sense. But out of respect for LucasArts we don't promote cracks here, in the sense that we don't allow people to put up say, download links to them or whatnot. This is because of the frequent correlation between crack usage and "warez."

 

It is difficult to prove online you really own the game and are not just taking fake pics off ebay. We're not the FBI. We just ask people use a little common sense and common courtesy, that's all.
