Jemek Sunns Posted March 10, 2005 Share Posted March 10, 2005 Just finished modeling a new saber for TSL, I've gotten all the way to assigning my model to the old model's dummy. Then I click on "resetxform" in the nwmax window, the modifier stack blinks but it does not become an ArouraBase, as I think it should, judging by the tutorials I've read. Without this modfier I can't export, if anyone has an idea where I might have gone wrong I'd appreciate the help. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sorry if I'm missing something, first timer. :/ NP man after you resetXform and link the dummy. Goto file and "Select All". When you export, you need to export from the NWMAX window, not from GMAX's fileset. That will definitely give you probs. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Arlen Treesong Posted March 10, 2005 Share Posted March 10, 2005 It's underneath the general tab as well, also if I'm not mistaken the nwnmax window should disappear and one will open to the right and you export from there. atleast thats how it works on mine. do what chainz said first thoe, my computer has a certain personality quirks hasn't been memory wiped in a long time. Just checked it out in game, no crashes even , but I don't dare post any pics of it until I can get it skinned. Thanks again you two, couldn't and have done it without you. I took a screenshot of my uvw map unwrap in gmax, threw it into a new document in Photoshop, and started painting. Saved the tga into my overdrive, went back in game and... no textures. Alot of the problems you're having I had discussed with ShadowBlaze in this thread: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=145640 The 1st two pages discuss in length about how to Hex edit a model to recognize your custom skin, If you're familiar with MDLOps, or even if you're not skip to page 3 and look at the "quick & easy" method using cchargin's MDLOps program. He's really made it easy for us to overcome this hurdle... And now for your viewing pleasure, my first lightsaber model: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~cloberg/newsaber.jpg Not much to look at, but this was more of a test run than anything. It's currently replacing the blue lightsaber, I think , I may be making it into a custom i.e. seperate model, we shall see. Given all the help you guys have given it shouldn't be too difficult.
