Lord Odin
I'm slightly changing the texture for the dark jedi robes, and thought I'd add a few reflective areas to it, such as the belt and whatnot. I make the areas transparent in Photoshop, save a TXI file with "envmaptexture CM_Baremetal", but when I get into the game it's not reflective, just transparent. Is there something else I need to do? This is how it looks: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/LordOdin_Zero/notreflective.jpg You can see some of Bao-Dur's armor through my character. Lord Odin
I believe it's worn by quite a few bad guys late in the game. The various sith guys in Trayus Academy have them, if I remember right.

Hey Lord Odin, I feel your pain man, I did something like this many moons ago and came up with the "swiss cheese" effect. You need to adjust your player's "envmap" column in the appearance.2da in order for the alpha trick to work. change the value from "Default" to "CM_Baremetal" (without quotes) You have to be careful too. It tends to put a slight sheen on everything for the player, including skin It's not bad, but if there's alot of exposed skin either via something like the Dancer Uniform or something similiar you can notice it... Lord Odin
Thanks Chainz So if I wanted all the characters I could create, as well as the NPCs, to use this, I'd have to edit each of their settings? Sounds like more trouble than it may be worth. I'll give it a try on one of them, and if I like the results, I can do the others.

Yeah, that's the only downside there's tons of columns to change if you wanted to effect every PC / NPC, though you're on the right track about choosing one to see if you like it first... heheh On the plus side, it does give dull drabby clothing / robes that little extra 'oomph'.. svösh's Good/Evil Bastila Robes is a great example of how when done right, can make for some preemo skins http://www.angelfire.com/crazy2/xclone_0101/kotor_mods.htm If you want to go all-out crazy, you can check out my Juhani Dark Robes and see just what alpha tricks can do http://www.pcgamemods.com/8465/ Good Luck! I got a few areas to touch up on this one, but overall it's about as good as my current abilities can make it, so I'm pretty content with it.
