Captivus
I have a question - how can I make something like for excample a tatoo on the left and ONLY left cheek? I looked at the azkhool (the guy with a scar on one eye) texture but couldn't find anything .....
Jeff
I'm pretty sure you cannot edit only one side of a face, whatever you put on one side goes on the other. Though you do bring up a good point about the scar. They must have done it in some way unknown to us, because I'm pretty sure what goes on one side goes on the other. Nodakrattler
You need to be able to completely edit the head model in order to do that. It's the .mdl&.mdx files that read the texture files then place the texture on like they were programed to. In simpler terms Azkool's head model was told to add a certain portion over the one eye instead of mirroring the other side like most models do. Sorry, but this isn't possible yet. T7nowhere
It all has to do with the UVW mapping. Most of the heads are textured on one side and the other is mirrored. Its a shortcut to getting a perfectly symmetrical texture face. Now in the case of adding scars, the UV mapping of the small section that is to have the scar has to be mapped on a new section of the texture. Doing this is not difficult, But if you want to change an exsisting head by adding a scar you would have to map that section differently. Unfortunately this is not possible that I know of. SO to make it clear if you want to make a head with a scar or one blinded eye then you will have to use one of the heads that are already mapped that way. Malivolus
As T7 pointed out, you will need to recreate UV mapping for this to work, you can check out this excelent tutorial on how to make a Snow Owl for NWN.
