Ive used a moddleing program once but i didnt model with it i only mapped. I didnt know how to use 3ds but i learn after a while. It took about 3hours of finding out the controls learning easy way to do co-ordinates ect. This is not the finish porject its a W.I.P feedback apreicated. I havent started the top part when the light comes out of the saber yet! Thanks HK 47 aka Joeku Also is gmax and easiar program to use. T7nowhere
When your making a lightsaber you would be better off starting with an ngon an modeling the saber as one piece, its just easyer to keep the poly count down that way. but sinse your just learning , i think it a good first attempt and you should keep practicing. Yeah. Think about having a long cylinder and then just sculpting out your hilt. Trust me, I learned the hard way. I had a nice hilt all done but I had three parts made seperately. When I combined them, I had not fun geometry problems. You're off to a good start. Keep at it.
