randydg Posted May 11, 2005 Share Posted May 11, 2005 OK, i've been working on this for awhile. i finaly got it to show the loading screen to danm13 from the first game into the second when i warp there. sofar so good. but when i get there i see all the people and stuff but there is pink everywhere. just thought i'd tell yall what i was working on. oh and why im trying to do this is so i can use danm13 for the rebuilt enclave instead of the rocks everywhere. i can say like they used the force to return it to its original condition. and here is what i did to show the loading screen sofar: 1. i copied danm13.rim & danm13_s.rim to kotor2 2. then i copied everything in rims from kotor1 exept for global ( it would crash when i moved global). 3. I copied some files in data folder. data folder is very picky you copy over the wrong file and it will crash. so if anyone has gooten futher than i have let me know. thanks, Randy P.S. BIF files (those in the data folder) are not independent files. They only contain data, but no index of what they contain. They are instead indexed by the chitin.key file in the game folder. Updating/replacing a BIF without updating the chitin.key file is asking for trouble. Ripping game assets from one game and porting them to another would likely also be asking for trouble (though in a legal rather than technical way), unless you plan to keep your mod to yourself and not release it. As for the rest, I believe the model format has changed slightly from KotOR to TSL, so I don't think you can just port things over like that and expect it to work. randydg Posted May 11, 2005 Author Share Posted May 11, 2005 yea, i just figured that out. it looks like when i change over the texturepacks folder from 1 to 2 thats when i can see the most objects & the loading screen. so evedently the texturepacks has most of the things you need to do it. just got to figure out where the mesh/ground graphic is. maybee i can find it and extact it to override. not sure. never tried this before. Sorry dude, but I know T7, D3, Prime or TK will eventually shut this thread down and tell you what I just said. Welcome back to the Lab anyway.
