Does ANYBODY know of a way to succesfully convert the .mdl model files of KotOR to something I could use like .3ds, .obj, .lwo, or anything I could actually use in my 3D programs???

 

I could make so many wonderful skins if I could just get these things in Deep Paint and UVMapper.

 

I've read through all of the forums and I've tried searching everything I could find on Google but all that got me was a terrible headache.

First, you need cchargin's MDLops to get the file into ascii format. Then, use nwnsscomp to open the file in gmax, 3ds max, or whatever program you use.

EDIT: No, wait, the part about the nwnsscomp is completely wrong. I don't know what I was thinking. What I meant to say way:

 

To get the model in gmax, use NWMax.

I have no trouble getting the models into GMax. I want is to get them out of GMax and into something I can actually use.

 

Are there no export plug-ins for GMax or import plug-ins for Lightwave or maybe some converter I am unaware of??
