Artus minemonsters don't function properly

I want to add minemonsters into my map (the biting bugs from the artus mine levels in JO) I have moved all of the minemonster data into the correct locations (models/sounds/ext_data etc) and it appears in the level fine, runs at correct speed and attacks with correct damage, its perect apart from it doesnt function like it did in JO, it runs towards the player but stops just before it gets to him and waits for you to go to it, before it starts biting you. All data is the same as JO, I havent altered or missed anything...

Whats up with it, is it possible for this type of enemy to even work on the JA engine?

I noticed the same thing some time ago. I haven't yet studied the matter very much, but I'm afraid the situation might be beyond help. Such a pity, really.

The same thing with the mark2 droid it doesn't work properly. The mark1 droid has sound problems. Raven made some modifications to the AI for JA and some things just don't work the same or as well.
