Blueprint
Heylo peeps, I'm fairly new to the whole modding scene but seeing Prime's 'jedi robe hoods over there...' topic and his converted robe gave me the get up and go to do something similar. I've downloaded KotOR Tool / NWmax 0.8 3ds max v6 / NWmax 0.8 max / mdlops / GFF editor and I have PSP 9.0, so I'm guessing I'm all ready to go. Only problem is I haven't got that much of an idea of how to go about doing it all and adding the hood etc. (i've read some of the tuts btw). So...if any of the great modders *worships*on the forums can help me I'd be well greatful, cheers. x.b.l.u.e.p.r.i.n.t.x
ChAiNz.2da
Welcome to the Forums Blueprint! Are you wanting to make your own hoods? Or was Avol's mod not what you had in mind? Just wanting to make sure you don't need to do any unnecessary work that Avol may have already done Avol's mods: http://www.pcgamemods.com/u/10087/ and thanks for the comments on the Hak Pad
Blueprint
Well I have considered Avol's mod and did try it out but the hoods don't exactly look attached to the robe so I was thinking more on the lines of blending etc. And no probs on the comment. x.b.l.u.e.p.r.i.n.t.x

I'd definitely suggest downloading this tool as well. It'll help preserve animations in models that you decide to adjust. Just make sure you don't delete vertices... you can only move them from what I recall: Taina's Replacer Tool: http://www.pcgamemods.com/11335/ Related Threads: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=147104 http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=147701

svösh
If you are thinking of modeling hoods on to the existing Jedi robes I will give you this food for thought. The hood has to be big enough to not have any hair or head clipping as it won’t / can’t be animated .. The best you could achieve is using flex mesh to simulate movement but it may not be what u want either , you have to map it, and as it its the jedi robes skins don’t have much more room on the uv map. Then there is the small , or major animation problem with compiling the female padawan robes in mdlops the only tool that will allow you to add new mesh to existing models and compile. The flourish animations gets destroyed as well as the combat ready stance, so any addition of new mesh won’t work in Taina's Replacer Tool. Though her tool is good for rearranging or shaping heads or remapping existing heads or pesky female padawan robes.. . You can’t cut, weld, add or delete any vertices in other words no operations at all The way Sep originally made his hood seen here unreleased.. http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=145837 http://gallery51159.fotopic.net/p12533794.html It’s a mask object just like Avol later copied, and mask object’s don’t support flex mesh aka dangly mesh , I have tried on my Santa hat and beard in the cheesy x-mas mod pack . To top it off this is the only way to make the hood turn with the head and at some points it will look detached there is no other way, if you build new mesh on to the existing jedi robes the problem will lay with the pc’s head, take the most popular white female head with a spiky bun on top and stuff it inside your hood with out clipping it’s not possible. Unless you build a hood reminiscent of dark helmet and I don’t think that’s the look you want either svösh
