zulu9812
Ok, obviously, this mod is supposed to make the game tougher. However, I think that it does so in an unbalancing and 'non-RPG' fashion. By simply making ALL enemies tougher, fights just become a pain - not so much that they're difficult, it's just that they take frickin' ages with not much variety in the fight. Would it not be better to: a) keep 'grunts' as they are, but make 'bosses' tougher? By bosses, I don't mean grunt commanders, e.g. Sith Liutenants. I'm talking more about beefing up Sith Assassins, the bigger monsters, etc. b) introduce more 'technique' into enemies fighting skills. For example, force enemies could use more force, more often. Sith Assassins are a breeze, and could really do with Drain Force, Death Field, etc. At Malachor, those Sith Lords and Sith Marauders are wimps (still so with the hardcore mod) - they certainly need improving. This makes these particular enemies tougher (which they should be) and more 'RPG' (which they should also be) without applying a uniform stat modifier to all NPCs across the board - which is kind of unsubtle. c) apply a sliding scale to the stat modifers. With the hardcore mod, i have a tough time at the lower levels but by the end of the game I still slice through enemies ten-a-stroke. Anyone know if this is possible? UDM
Sorry to hijack your thread for a while. I'd like to state that the hardcore mod doesn't seem to do jack for me. It still plays like the normal kotor, maybe even easier. What's up with that?
Achilles
Are you referring to Beancounter's Hardcore Mod or my Game Balance Mod? I tried to address many of your concerns with the mod I put together, but it's not fancy. I would also recommend checking out the work that Stoffe -mkb- has been putting in with the game's AI. I hope that helps.
zulu9812
Thanks Achilles, your Game Balance mod appears to be what I'm looking for. However, how would I go about resetting the level 35 cap back to level 50?
Achilles
Level 35 isn't a cap: it's what you should be able to get to using the mod. Unmodded, you can only get to ~ level 28 in TSL without cheating. With this file you can get to about 35 without cheating. You can still use cheats to get to 50 using my mod.
