Lightsabre blade-color

I don't think you can make them cost nothing but you can make them cost 1. Go to BIF's-2da-itemcreate then change "skill" to 1 for all of them. For reference, I used RedHawke's guide. It has great information. Check it out for more :)

Actually that's what skill it demands, not the component-cost (which I was referring to), and you can set the skill to zero, already done that, no problem.

But thanks anyway.

How do one change the color of the blade in KotOR2? Is there a texture-file?

Yup, they are named like w_lsabrered01, w_lsabreblue01, w_lsabreyelo01, w_lsabregold01, w_lsabregren01, w_lsabrepurp01, etc.

When you use KT's image viewer they appear as a circle of color with a white center, at least that is how I remember it! lol! :D

Also, is there a way to make items in the workbench cost zero?

This is linked to the items cost, reduce the Cost and AddCost numbers in the uti files and that should reduce the needed components to make...

Thanks. Though now I'm gonna have to kill the game-developers for using the color black as a transparent. (or am I wrong?) Since I really wanted to make a black blade. Gonna try tweaking a bit and see what happens.

You're not wrong black is the transparent color, though it is possible...

There have been some black sabers made though, GameUnlimited made one for KOTOR I, go to his site and scroll down it is there.

Master svösh also made some black blades with colored glows... or was it vice versa? Hmm... one of them!

I hope this helps! :D

I don't recall if you can get the construction costs to 0 or if it stops at 1. But if I recall correctly, I've figured out that the "Cost" section doesn't affect construction costs, the "Additional Cost" section does. I don't actually know what the "Cost" section does, but I've used the Additional Cost (AC) a lot.

With construction bench items the number you put in AC gets divided in half, then by 10 to get construction cost in components.(8080 becomes 404)

With med-bench items the AC gets divided in half to get construction cost in chemicals. (8080 becomes 4040)

The AC will also define the merchant pricing in credits.(8080 becomes 8080 base... some merchants are more expensive than others and some provide a discount)

Therefore...

Setting Additional Cost to 8080 means:

it will cost 404 components to create the item at the workbench.

it will cost 4040 chemicals to create the item at the lab-bench(if applicable)

it will cost 8080 credits to purchase the item from a merchant using base pricing rates. ie, no markup or discount.

I hope that is of some value.
