Book(s): Thrawn Trilogy

The Doctor

Recommended Posts

I just finished reading the Thrawn trilogy (don't ask what took me so long), and I loved it, even though I normally hate all the ROTJ stuff. If you've read it, what do you think of it?

BTW, I was told today that Luke Skywalker once fell to the Dark Side temporarily, but was redeemed. Is this true, or is it total bull biscuits?

It's true.

The graphic novels Dark Empire and Dark Empire II involve the ressurection of the Emperor (via clone), and Luke ends up seduced by the Dark Side, filling his father's role as the Emperor's apprentice. He is eventually redeemed with the help of Leia.

Personally I loved the Thrawn trilogy. Most post-ROTJ stuff rubs me the wrong way, but I thought they were creative and well-executed...good enough to be canonical, imo.

Luke indeed dabbled in the Dark side in the Dark Empire comic series. he did have a reason for doing it though..

Interestingly though, the new SW books - The "Dark Nest Trilogy", set some 30 years after ANH, have Luke and his new generation of Jedi Knights questioning the nature of the force and the use of some Dark Side Powers..

for example, Luke seems to be using force lightning in this image from the cover of the third book in the series(which I havent read yet)

more details and images at the EU forum - heres a link to the Dark Nest thread specifically:

I can't remember what book I read, but Luke falls to the darkside. Eventually, he comes back from his fall, but it was also noted that he is the only one to truely come back from the darkside. Without help!
