Lightsaberboy
bah. i got something in my AIM profile and i dont know how to get it out. It appears at the very bottom of my profile, and it has the link http:buddyinfo.aim.com/away there. At first i thought it was a virus, so i did a norton scan, but it came up with nothing. then i uninstalled and reinstalled aim and i thought the problem was gone but then it reappeared on the bottom of my profile! but the weird thing was, when i clicked it, i didnt get a virus or anything. instead, it took me to an aol page, and when i signed in my AIM username, it went to a page that showed all my online buddies' away messages and profiles. so the link itself seems to be harmless enough for the most part, but i still can't get rid of it. any ideas? Lightsaberboy
but it's not a virus...the link goes to something from AIM so it seems like they put it in my profile...
Mike Windu
AIM doesn't put stuff in your profile. You probably clicked a link someone sent you. It's a trojan or worm or something. That link fixes AIM problems.
Lightsaberboy
but i never clicked anything on a link someone sent me. i always check where the url goes to so i dont click anything suspicious. the thing is an AIM thing tho i believe. the link in my profile goes to this AIM page where you sign in and can view all your online buddies' away messages and profiles on one page and comment on it, sorta like a myspace for AIM. i looked online for stuff about it before seeing and i found this site http://journals.aol.com/gregsblog/aimInfo/ that talks a bit about how its some beta program that's gonna allow people to yadda yadda yadda in the second posting. ZBomber
You should take Mike's advice, because you don't have a better idea.
