Jem
well, I liked Grim Fandago.... but the best games that ever existed are the old ones... sure I played Half Life or quake II or arena... but the shoot'em up that I really think is the best is Duke Nukem !! it rocks on multyplayer! Duke Nukem: "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum....damn I'm all out of gum." ---------- The fun went away along with the pixels [This message has been edited by Jem (edited November 30, 2000).]

Jem
quote: --------------------- originally posted by Poor Bastard: "According to this Jem person, anything that runs in a resolution over 640x480 and has 3d models instead of sprites does not belong to the "fun" genre of games..." ------------------------- That is not my way of thinking. now this is my way of thinking: Great graphics and 3D sound cannot substitute for lack of gameplay; sounds and graphics are not the things that make a good game, GamePlay is the important stuff, Gameplay! People have been "blinded" by graphics and sound over and over again so they forgot what's a real fun game all about. and "anything that runs in a resolution over 640x480" is where u can find the best games because at that time they didn't have to worry about graphics or sound, they had to find a great story and make a game that everyone would love: they would concentrate only on that. Nowadays they concentrate on graphics, graphics and graphics(how many direct 3D Hardware acceleration have been released in such a small amount of time!)!! anyways I could go on for ever but I'll stop there. oh yeah, I did say that Grim Fandango was a good game and it does not run in a resolution under 640x480 and has sprites instead of 3d models. --------------- The fun went away along with the pixels. Admiral Odin
I ruled at doom and quake, when I played with my friends, I would get a hundred kills, they would have twenty. ------------------ "Dulce bellum inexpertis." Poor Bastard
This is a little bit off topic, but once I beat my friends in a 3 vs 1 in Goldeneye(N64), 50 kills to nothing... ------------------ You know one thing that will really make a Jedi mad? Darth Sceltor
I always make my sister mad whenever we play Perfect Dark. One of my favorite ways to kill her is to toss a proximity mine on her and watch her run around during the 4.5 seconds until detonation..... Admiral Odin
In doom that weapon that shot the green bolt weapon #7. My brother hated it, since every time he shot it at me I would evade it, and every time I shot him with it he would die. ------------------ "Dulce bellum inexpertis." Guest Thrawn
How did you get your hands on that game? Yeah, no matter how long you play it, eventually, the AT-ATs will hit Echo Base, or you will die. I played for 5 hours straight once, and still didn't beat it. ------------------ You were expecting a creative sig?
