ok. just a disturbing trend i've been noticing. i realise that some (ok most) of the newbies here start off ignorantly silly or just plain dumb and all, but...

 

it's kinda out of hand i think. actually, it's TOTALLY out of hand. all over the map bannig people. if i came to xwa THIS year instead of last, i think you'd have chased me away by now.

i've noticed not just newbies but nute too, is getting razzed more than his share. and yes, i realise he acted silly SO MUCH for SO LONG, that's why he was bashed for awhile, then with his femme-side "mako" and ego and all.

but after awhile, it's not funny. its annoying (the teasing i mean) it's not teasing it's malicious kinda.

we don't have a clue what is going on in someone's life, i mean their real life, that makes them do things on here, or whatever.

can we give newbies and reformed newbies who apologise a chance? and stop harassing little nutiferous so bad :B

whatever. i dont even know if i should post this.

We have given the ones like janek and coffeebean a second chance. We tried to give Duke a second chance, but right after he "apologized" he turned to his old ways once more. He's gone. That is something that can't be changed, as he brought it on himself.

I noticed that all those that do stupid things are the ones that have been picked on, if they just tried to ease themsleves into the flow here everything would be fine. Duke keeps coming back and as far as I can tell is the only one who has gottened banned. Nute well that is a special case, and we just joke.

Ummm...I sure hope I'm not guilty of teasing Nute too hard! frown.gif

 

The general tone of this board (that I've seen, anyway) seems to have a lot of friendly razzing. We're always *(killing)* each other, making playful jokes about each other and the whatnot...and as long as everyone takes it lightly, it can actually be a beneficial thing, serving to build a sense of camaraderie. Once someone takes the teasing too far, or the wrong way, it is time to end it.

 

Nute is a celebrity here at XWA. smile.gif If his name comes up more often, that is a sign of his popularity...as I see it. I want to affirm here and now that any teasing I've done with good intentions, to interact with little Nutie here in cyberland in a way I thought was enjoyed by him foremost. If any of my posts have come across as mean or uncalled for, I apologize.

 

Please stay, Nute. smile.gif What would we do without our Neimoidian archvillain?

 

The Newbians, on the other hand, do not understand XWA style 'gentle teasing' very well. Comments about a forum member's sexual preference would be out of line in any context on a moderated forum, and common sense should have told them that. Swift and immediate banning was the correct answer.

What is wrong with puns? They are a very high form of humor that people cannot get because they are slighty slower then others. Just think, if you can appriciate puns, then you are a more highly evolved human tongue.gif (oh, i am so dead now)

Don't say that just because the newbies came recently is the reason that we don't like them. Admiral came around the same time as them, but he's still here. It wasn't us who were mean to them. They acted inappropriately, we gave them a warning and a second change and some of them blew it. Some of the razzing we do here may go to far, and if anybody has a problem with it, just let the person know or if it's too bad, us Siths'll take care of it.
