LiquidZoo
I recently decided to play through KotOR 1 again with some of my favorite, and some new mods installed. Currently installed are: StormTrooper mod for Sith Soldiers (doesn't seem to be working, but I'm only up to Dantooine) Good/Evil Bastila from svösh The 3 item/booster packs from Redhawke (awesome, by the way) Revan Robes (to create Revan/Star Forge robes from the computer terminal on Dantooine) Tomb of Jesset Dal'Kest Juhani Sanctuary Robes Exar Kun (to fly there from Yavin IV) Character Reskin Pack from Shem Those are the major ones that I can think of off the top of my head. I redownloaded all of these to make sure I got any updates needed, and edited the appearance.2da files to make them compatible. Here's my question: When I create the robes on Dantooine, it gives me the Star Forge robes (playing light side) that look more like the cutscene Revan robes (one of those mods has this robe change, can't remember which), but I would like them to look like the original Star Forge robes that you can create with an unmodded version of the game. I have removed the uti files and texture files for these robes (I think), but the robes still look this way and not the default way. Is there anything I can do, short of restarting the game without any of these mods, to change these back to their default appearance? I don't care if it affects the Revan PC robes because, as I said, I am playing Light Side. Anyone have any ideas?
Darth InSidious
You should go back to a save-game before you spawned the crate/whatever containing the robes. Also, if you just remove the .tga file, it should work. And I'm pretty sure there are some Star Forge robes there, or in the temple-thing On Nemo's body
LiquidZoo
I tried removing what I assume to be the tga file for the new look Star Forge robes, then removing them from my inventory using the savegame editor and respawning them, but the look didn't change. Must have missed something, unless there is something hard coded into the save game file. I will try going back to a previous save (I purposely made one so I could play dark side and not have to start the game from Taris, because I honestly don't like that part) and see if that fixes the issue. I'd hate to remove all of my mods just to get around this.
RedHawke
Unfortunately LZ, my Revan The White/Star Forge booster pack does this, so in order to revert the Revan Robes to the normal dress looking ones, you will have to remove that Revan The White/Star Forge booster mod pack and just run with my first 2 item packs. Sorry, but the files are too interconnected so the whole booster pack has to be removed for this, the textures I made are for the hooded cutcene robe model not the dress one. I hate the dress. I mean you could remove the appearance.2da file and this would make the robes have the dress model again, but if you put on like the Revan The White Robes I your game would crash, as they need the appearance.2da to work properly. Unless you are familiar with 2da editing? If so then there is hope. If not then you will have to remove the Revan The White/Star Forge Booster Pack. LiquidZoo
Yes, I am familiar with 2da editing. I have researched it and done some in order to get some different mods working together. I know that the installer added 2 lines to the end of my appearance.2da file, those have been removed. I assume there are others as the robes still have that look. I like the Revan The White robe look, but it doesn't work for the character I am molding (that, and there is noticable clipping with the hood on the head model I am using) and I definitely like the sabers, so I would want to keep those for sure (always use the silver/white blade color in TSL, I really like it) If you can point me to the items that need to be changed/updated, I would greatly appreciate it. **edit** Extracted the original 2da file and compared it to my updated one and found a bunch of instances of N_DarthRevan in the updated one that weren't in the original, I replaced them with the **** that's in the original, but when I tried to equip the SF robes that I just spawned (g_a_mstrrobe07), the game crashed... RedHawke
By removing the lines added by the installer to appearance.2da or doing as you edited in above, you are setting up your game for a crash, you need to add those lines you removed back on. If you wear one of the Revan The White Robes I or Star Forge Robe I items your game will crash. 1.) First fix the appearance.2da back to the way it was installed my my mods installer... 2.) Open that appearance.2da in KT... 3.) Then on the Female PC lines 91-135 change the modelj cells from N_DarthRevanF to PFBJS on row 91, PFBJM on row 92, PFBJL on row 93 and repeat the process on down the rows till you reach row 135 and it should be a PFBJL. Like so... PFBJS PFBJM PFBJL PFBJS PFBJM PFBJL and so on... to row 135. 4.) Then on the Male PC lines 136-180 change the modelj cells from N_DarthRevanM to PMBJS on row 136, PMBJM on row 137, PMBJL on row 138 and repeat the process on down the rows till you reach row 180 and it should be a PMBJL. PMBJS PMBJM PMBJL PMBJS PMBJM PMBJL And so on... to row 180. Click on a cell on a line you didn't edit and save this appearance.2da to your override. This should put the models back to the stock ones.
LiquidZoo
Thanks RedHawke! That worked perfectly. Well almost. The torso of the Star Forge robes is semi-transparent, but I can live with it for now. Thanks.
RedHawke
Like I said above the textures were meant for the Hooded Cutscene model, there are things that cannot be fixed, so you will have to live with this if you don't want to remove the Revan The White/Star Forge Booster Pack. I'm glad you got it working though! Enjoy!
LiquidZoo
Actually, after reading around here for a while (6+ months or so), I may try a mod of my own and extract the original Star Forge robe, retexture, and see if I can get it working in-game. Probably need something that I have overlooked, though. In the event that I do need to remove the Revan the White Booster, is there a list somewhere of what files = what in-game items? I am using a few of them that I quite like (those from the box on the Endar Spire, and the lightsabers) and I would like to continue using them if I could. RedHawke
I don't have a list of what files lead to what items, that is just too many things to go back and try to list, I had one but it went with my HDD format after I got my current PC, almost a year ago. Not to mention the items from my packs are somewhat interconnected, because of their in-game placement, etc. I don't know what will happen if things get removed individually. Feel free to do the expirementing on your end, remember you might get some crashes while doing so. Edit: The cheat codes I give in the readme files, well the items uti filenames are identical. I hope this helps!
