Ever almost been shot?

Recommended Posts

As of yesterday, I can say that I have. And this wasn't like I was in the area for something else; someone nearly shot me on purpose. I shouldn't say exactly what happened, but I seriously almost got killed.

The reason I bring this up is that I now have a little experience most of you hopefully don't have, facing death that way, and I wanted to share something with you. If there's one thing I learned from this experience, it is this: be ready to die. I mean, this really came out of nowhere. I was having a fine time, just singing in the shower. 10 minutes later I was running through the woods being hunted. I thought I would be killed for sure, but I honestly felt completely ready to die as well. The main reason I felt that way is because I believe I have lived as God wants us to live. I have faith, and do good works, and go to church, and go to Confession. That last is what really gave me confidence, and so (this is mainly for my fellow Catholics, now), if you have not been to Confession in a while, go. Go often from now on. Be ready. If you're not Catholic, then make sure to faithfully live your religion and seek forgiveness for your sins however you do that. If you have no religion, then just be sure you really believe there is no kind of god anywhere. Be really sure. Also, make sure to tell your loved ones that you love them. You never know if you you'll get the chance again.

OK, enough of all this serious stuff smile.gif Now, I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I sit here alive today because of some seriously l33t ski11z. So, ph33r m3!!!!11 smile.gif

Dude! That really sucks! I hope there's no long term trauma for you. I know I don't know any of you all that well yet, but I can only say that I wish you the best. I sincerely mean that. You seem to have a healthy attitude and perspective on things, but still... I'm really sorry to hear this happened to you.

This is my spring break, so I'm home, and not in the dorms. And it didn't happen while I was in the shower, it happened after I got out of the shower. And it actually didn't bother me that much, really. I was at the police station for about 4 hours, and then I just went home, watched Star Trek, and went to bed.
