Having trouble making a new Item

I wanted to make a new armor that makes you the Ubese clan. So i looked at the uct file. THe appearance said Sith_Assassin_01. Now when I make the Disguise as Sith_Assassin_01, and put it on in game it crashes. Is there somethin im doing wrong, or what?

 

I tried the same thing with no luck as armor, however i did have succes as an implant, but as soon as you equip armor it crashes. Mind you i have about as much knowlage in moding as a squashed meatant.

forgive my ignorance, but i didnt understand that :(

 

If you open baseitems.2da you will see multiple rows, each row is the base item, ie. base damage, defence equipable slot, etc..., near the bottom is a row set aside fot disguises. This row is the same baseitem row the Sith armour you get in Kotor uses.

Yes it did, but I never did anything with it and have since deleted those files.

 

I was just thinking since the Ubese row in apperance.2da doesn't have any enteries for body models when you try use the disguise property the armour also tries to equip an armour, and all body armours use a model and tex column in apperance.2da.

 

So try this: open apperance.2da, go to the apperance row for the Ubese(row #459), scroll to the right and enter N_SithAssn in all of the model columns. Don't worry about the tex columns since the model files already know which texture to applie.

 

Now save that edited apperance.2da to your Override folder then try your armour again. It should work now.
