GRID Lab: Gaming research/ Arcade!

In the city I live outside of (Athens OH) there's this new project being opened called a G.R.I.D. lab (Gamin Research and Immersive Design, I'm pretty sure that's right). It consists of two main parts, An R/D center for students of Ohio University to research "serious" games, such as medical training tools and the like. Sadly I've been told that this will be resricted, for the most part, from the public. The second part is a SotA Arcade with many gaming systems with shiny plasma wideys and PC's for a good way to blow a saturday, supposedly tournaments will be common ($:D$, J/K I'z gotz no skittlez;)) but it sure does seem like it's going to be sweet when it opens monday:D

Does anyone else already have something similar where you live?

If so, and it's been around for a little while, What are some of it's features and inovations that were added, and what are some of the main problems it's suffered, if any?

I'm kinda psyched about this, if they can expand beyond developing training tools and venture more into the UI and gameplay/presentation it might produce tangible results in the arcade, influencing other arcades and maybe even game development.

And one thing an employee told me was that they are seriously going to try and expand as much as possible:)
