Chapter II: Betrayal of the Exile

Malachor V. The planet is desolate, dark, pulsating with the

presence of the Dark Side. It is here that the JEDI EXILE, named

TYSY DVUKH, will confront someone who has turned against her.

This one was her Master and teacher, an aged Jedi called KREIA.

However, Kreia has revealed herself to be the third of a triumvirate

of powerful Sith Lords. She is DARTH TRAYA, a manipulative mastermind.

TYSY does not want revenge--only answers. Her comrades aboard the

EBON HAWK, however, may want more than that. They have all come

together to defeat this final Sith Lord, destroying her link to the Force...

**********************************************

"Kreia?" Tysy Dvukh's voice was soft and humble, as an exile's would

be. "Is that you in the middle of the Trayus Core, after all?" She looked

closer. Indeed, it was her former teacher, the one who had allowed her

to reconnect with the Force. Why had Kreia betrayed her--all of them?

"I haven't come alone," said the Exile. "I've brought Atton Rand

with me, and everyone else who traveled with us aboard the Ebon

Hawk. Mira, Mandalore, Visas Marr, the Disciple. The only ones

who aren't here are Bao-Dur and the droids, who are guarding the

Mass Shadow Generator. I could give the order to activate it again

and end this fight before it starts, but then we all would perish. I don't

want to cause any more wounds in the Force than I already have.

"Kreia...my Darth Traya...why have you done this to me? To us?"

Darth Treya walked closer to Tysy. "You fell to the dark side once too. But you disgustingly turned back. Now look at you. You are traveling around with a drunk pazaak player and a metal-armored young brat who can't keep his mouth shut. I betrayed you for my own good!"

"For your own good? I suppose you would think that, Traya, considering

you're a Sith Lord, and you believe that only the strong must survive.

But tell me. Is my Atton--" and here she gestured to the young Jedi

Sentinel--"drunk now, or is he in full control of his senses? You see

the anger in his eyes. He knows full well what he's doing, like you.

"As for Mandalore, he believes in forceful action, not so many words.

He could empty his whole Repeater in a hail of energy bullets right now,

but he hasn't yet. He wants to hear your reasoning. Traya--why choose me?"

Kreia lifted her hand and Mandalore's gun flew up in the air and flew far away. " If this smart-mouth dosen't stop annoying me, I'll do that to you. Well anyways, I chose you because I could sense.. Oh never mind. You shouldn't know it.."

Tysy's gaze turned cold. "Try us. Our weapons may be our fighting tools,

but they're only tools. We've also been trained to duel without them."

Softening her heart a bit, the Jedi Exile asked Darth Traya, "What should

I not know, Traya? What could you sense in me that you will not tell me?"

"Sorry, Mandalore," apologized Tysy, with a sheepish grin. "Charge!"

She held her silver saberstaff close to her, ready to attack Traya

if she needed to. The Sith Lord seemed unwilling to answer her

questions, which was no surprise. However, if this was the only way...

"Power? You mean my ability to cause 'echoes', or wounds in the Force?

First of all, I had no idea I could do that until you showed me I could.

Second of all, now that I realize what I was doing, I don't want to do

it anymore. If I kill the Force, I will kill the entire galaxy! All life will be

wiped out, and I have no desire to repeat what I did at Malachor V,

times one million!" Tysy paused for a moment, considering her words.

"What do you have against the Force, Traya? Why do you want to destroy it?"

"The force." Kreia said. "Is a very powerful thing. You do not know yet what destroying it can do. Yes it will kill many poeople but all that power will belong to me! Isn't that better than just a few million people's lives saved. They have no difference to me" Kreia stepped right in front of Tysy. "Imagine this. All the force in the galaxy in one person. She would be unstoppable! I would control the force, which means I would control all!

"You would control all?" asked Tysy. "By default, that means you would control

me as well. And Atton here, and Visas, and Mandalore. I may be wrong, but I

don't think they would like that. What would you do with us after you controlled

the Force? I suppose we'd be of no further use to you, so then you'd terminate...

"This means that either we must strike you down, or you'll do the same to us.

Right?" Tysy stepped backward, oddly unsure. "Something tells me that at least

in my case, I'd be wrong. What would you have me do after you'd won, Traya?"

"I agree," whispered the Exile, "but as for defeating Traya...she is beyond weapon

damage now. Even Force damage won't do much to her, because her wisdom

is very great. We must beat Traya in the only way that can truly affect her--

her thinking. If we weaken her arguments, prove her wrong, then her link to

the Force might diminish. Let's try it, and see if it will work. I'll go first.

"Before I tell you whether I'll join your army," announced Tysyacha, a

determined look on her face, "I'd like to know why you turned from the Jedi.

You weren't a Sith from the beginning. You were once Light, like me."

"I like my plan. It makes sence," Visas cleared her throat "So you think fighting wouldn't help. If only that was the same way around for her."

Visas took in a deep breath and made an attempt to help the exile think up another plan. "Listen Tysy, I can see where your plan might lead to her downfall but she'll soon release that and make the first move. You need a better plan."
