Space Skirimishes only?

Anyone know if you can play some space skirmishes only?

 

Reason asking, is my graphics card doesnt not fully support the DirecTX 9.0c

so my ground units look like white ghosts unless i am completely scrolled out.

 

I however enjoy the space part of the game immensely. I still think the

ground, from what i have seen, is better in SWGB.

 

If anyone could give me a little help on this, this will help me decide if i

am going to buy it or buy BFME2, cause it plays on my computer.

Yes, very easy. Someone made a 'Space Only Mode' Mod for the demo. Just disable the ground map yes or no in XML.

 

Get the game, the Mod is very easy to install.

I do have the mod's for the demo. Just didnt dig deep enough into

the XML files to disable that.

ok, before i get ahead of myself here, how do you disable the ground?

 

Eliminate the XML's for groundcompanyrebels and groundcompanyempire?

meaning delete them ? or is in the PLANETS.XML and disable each planet?

In the final version of the game, without any mods you can play skirmish battles in space only. Skirmish battles are actually only land or space. Not both.

 

Though the galatic conquest part of the game is both land and space.

 

As far as XML... idk much about that to be of asistance.

Ok, so in the real game will i still be able to conqueror systems without having to do land battles? I guess the just space and land battles confuses me , or is that just a campaigns thing where you eventually have to do both.

In the regular campaign, you have to do both. There's no way around it

In Galactic Conquest mode (not the Campaign scripted missions as said) you can play the Space Only Mod where each planet is treated like Bespin.

 

That planet is a gas giant planet with no land map (Lando's cloud city FYI). You simply make each planet in the full game the same way. You can own each planet and still build a space station. Look at Bryant and Greys Demo Mod for proof.

 

So you can have skirmish only in space, these are the one off games; and you can still play the full Glactic Conquest Mode 'space only' against the AI or MP. All palnets are treated as planets such as Bespin, but each are unique. This eliminated the need for land battles.

back to topic in MP u can play space skirmish, but in CG u would have to play both land and space.but i have a feeling that there might be a mod for the real version of jus tplaying space only

Good to see a familiar face around here. Not that anyone has been

mean or anything.

 

I downloaded a mod that takes out land battles in CG, and i know how to

it actually. So once the game comes out i'll mod the CG so i can do it

and save it and conqueror the galaxy ,,,har har har!

 

man i gotta create a new account for LO12DS, icreated this the same day i created the LO12DS One when we didnt know where we were going.

 

Sad to hear you wont be on zone anymore. I dont see hardly any DS on, except some scen players. SWGB isnt slowing down oddly enough, still average about 160 on during peak hours. But this game will be taking my

time up im sure. CG takes long enough as it is.
