Armor "Enhancements"

They are planning to "enhance" armor by dropping all class-based restrictions on types of armor (the last vestige of CU: restrictions based on recon versus battle versus assault). The only remaining restrictions will be that only BH's and commandos can wear Mandalorian armor, and Jedi can wear no armor. The reason for those last restrictions should be obvious -- to do otherwise wouldn't be "iconic", and thus wouldn't be in the spirit of NGE. All armor hindrances will be dropped.

My take: this is heading further down the path of dumbing down the game to make everything no-brainer. It removes more "confusing complexity" from the game.

Armor Loot Drops

Oh ho! What is this? In addition to weapons dropping like flies, now armor drops will be added. So if you thought armorsmiths were irrelevant already, guess again -- they can be made even more irrelevant. But wait, not bad enough? They are going to add more and more clothing drops, I guess so they can kill off tailors, too.

Removal of no drop, no trade and biolink from many quest rewards

Ah, I see, this fits the pattern. Further flood the market with reward items on top of the looted items -- this time to kill off that last bit of business a chef might have been eking out.

PvP Switch in Field

This one might be o.k., I guess, for folks who want to PvP. But it fits with the whole dumb it down theme, here. Nobody has to plan ahead or even know or care about the faction recruiters and their function. Just hit the switch to change from combatant to special forces or back.

Item Loss on Death in PvP

I guess this is being planned as the big incentive to rev up the GCW. Under this scheme, if you kill somebody in PvP, you'll be "rewarded" by getting one random item auto-looted from them. My guess is that this will backfire, as after the first time somebody loses an item they actually cared about, they'll just opt out and refuse to PvP any more.

Player Bounties

O.k., this one I guess people have been clamoring for. If you die in PvP, you get a chance to place a bounty amount on them. BH's then get a /bountyCheck which lets them periodically check if a player has a bounty on them, and if so, can force them into a fight using the existing duel mechanism (but without the choice to refuse). That is good, in that it will contain the bounty hunting to one-on-one fights, instead of gankings. But I'm going to anticipate that the system will end up being rolled out, and *then* they will start discovering the loopholes and opportunities for griefing, which will force the system to be nerfed again in Publish 29.

O.k., but here is the one that really steams me:

The "Fix" for Entertainers

In the apparent absence of any idea how to actually fix entertainers in the current scheme, the fix is: make entertainers combatants! Yep, no kidding. The "fix" is to add a bunch more generic combat "skills" to the skill progression tree in the entertainer class, and then let the AI be aggro to entertainers again. Let's see, hmmm, a Level 22 entertainer gets a Level 22 High Kick in the Chops special attack. At Level 26, they get a High C Singing Attack that stuns the opponent temporarily. At Level 42, they get a Level 42 Slitherhorn Throw. And a Master Entertainer gets a Knock-'em-Dead Punchline Delivery attack.

http://swvault.ign.com/ it should be on their main page, what I posted above came from their forums.

What I want to know is, why bother having a Trader profession when items are going to be common loot drops? If everything is gearing up for a more player friendly experience, I would think that Trader would soon be on the way out - no more weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, or tailors because you can simply go and kill something around your level and should be able to find some nice loot.

Because the devs from LA/SOE are idiots who now seem to be on a full scale run at closing the game
