Anach
Playing on hard, this game is far too easy. I find I can defend each planet so well with enough ships in orbit that the AI doesnt even bother to come out from hiding. Its predictable that after I attack them and take over a planet, they TRY to attack me back. With planetary defense gun and an upgraded space station and some captial ships defending, its not even a worry. You only need to defend your planets that have a direct route to an enemy planet. You can trap the enemy special characters on a planet and surround it by your own planets. Making it impossible for them to move, while you take over the rest of the galaxy. Space battles are always the same. Charge for the starbase>shield gen>hanger>missles>guns then peck off the ships one by one. Ground games are always the same. Charge for control points>Land more units>pull back and wait for them to waste all their already built units>assault their base. I have nothing agaisnt "Easy" being easy ,but hard should be next to impossible. Not just another form of easy. Hate to upset the carebears. Dont get me wrong. This game is great, its just too easy. It would be better of along with increasing difficulty, the maps were bigger, to make battles last longer.

gswift
Yeah, it helps a little if you turn the speed all the way up in Galactic mode. (if you haven't tried that already) Of course, the same could be said for Rome:TW, or just about any other strategy game. The hardest game I've played recently on hard difficulty level was Civ4, but's just because the AI cheats alot. Once they get multiplayer working reliably you'll have plenty of competition. Jmaster3265
Well, maybe it is just easy for you. It depends on skill and experience. You may just be very good at RTS games.

DarkLord1981
AI is very predictable, they know where you are, what you have etc. Real Players are just as predictable, all the players i have played against haven't bothered to build their planets up (defenses wise), they just build hordes of Ground Troops and rush me and that in my opinion is no way to play a RTS game. but thats just my opinion. DarkLord1981
I personally find the game too hard, since the AI always seems to have the counters to my units. I attack with full Tanks in the hope to just rush to their base and destroy them. Fails - The AI has Anti-Armor Units and NO infantry at all I attack with full Infantry in the hope of getting the reinforcement points to get more infantry Fails - The AI has Anti-Infantry Units and NO Anti-Armor at all It seems that they know what you have and spawns ground units to counter them, doesn't sound fair to me. I guess i will stick with the Empire/Rebel Cheat mods, i can accually enjoy the game story then. Since i don't intend to play online no more since C&C Generals, I won't lose out, unless someone can tell me how i can get the AI to accually use the Fog of War, i have set the AI use Fog Of War, but it makes no difference at all. gswift
I found one GOOD way to make it harder over the weekend. Play one of the GC maps where the starting tech level is higher than 1 and then go into the advanced options and lower your starting tech level. I think the enemy retains the original level. Well, he had way more high-tech ships than I had for a starting force, so I'm assuming that he built them while I was still researching tech levels. I was really scrambling to retreat for a while before I stopped his front line of advance.
