The Doctor
I'm trying to build my own bootskin to match my new desktop theme, but I have no idea how. I disected an existing one to see what kinds of files I need, and it seems simple - two bitmaps and an ini. The thing is, I don't know what to put in the ini, and I can't open the ones I have to find out. Could somebody help me out here?
MdKnightR
Easiest way to do it is to get StyleXP from TGTsoft.com
lukeiamyourdad
Except that it isn't free. Sadly, I tried doing that too, but couldn't figure it out. There are programs out there that do it for you, but they cost money, which IMO isn't worth it. You can try asking on some Windows tweaking forum. The Doctor
I did... the tutorial I got doesn't seem to work. I can't save it as a .bootskin file, which is the only file BootSkin Studio reads...
MdKnightR
Except that it isn't free...which IMO isn't worth it. I humbly disagree. I think it is well worth it considering the limited choices that are native to XP. But that is just my opinion.
