Shanara Red
Hey! I have desperately been trying to get hold of the original PC speaker soundtracks of MI 1. I am new to these forums and have only checked a few pages back for any similar threads with no luck. So anyone who has any idea how or where I could find the original PC speaker sound? The best I've managed on the web was here! PLEASE! I am desperate for that ol' schreeching PC speaker sound! It almost brings tears to my eyes thanx a bunch and much obliged! elTee
You can emulate it with ScummVM. Copy your Monkey Island CD to your harddrive (ignore the CD audio files; as you're searching for internal speaker music you won't need to copy them) and then add it as a game in ScummVM. Once you've done that, click on "Edit Game" and go to the "Audio" tab. Check the box that says "Override" and then choose "PC Speaker" from the drop-down list. This works for all LucasArts games that were made with an internal PC speaker soundtrack - The Last Crusade sounds particularly nostalgic Click on the thumb below to see an image of this simple process. Huz
It doesn't work for me, LT! You had my hopes up and everything! Then again, I've never heard my current PC speaker make a sound other than the power-on beep...
elTee
It doesn't actually play the audio through the PC speaker itself, it comes through your soundcard. Somehow.
