I guess my rock has been hiding me from the sun wink.gif. Are they going to produce the whole trilogy this time or just the first book and forget the rest like they did 20 years ago?

have you actually read LotR Nutey? i'm halfway through The Two Towers right now...and i can't wait for the movies to come out smile.gif i've had the books for a long time now (somebody bought them for me) and i'm just now reading them. the first one is really boring for about the first half of the book, but then it gets a whole lot better smile.gif so if any of you have been daunted by it and haven't made it through, i highly recommend trying again, it's well worth it smile.gif

there's my $0.02

I read The Hobbit about a decade ago, but i've never read LOTR. I didn't think The Hobbit was all that great a book. But that might just be because right after I finished it I read Red Storm Rising, which I regarded as the best book ever for 8 years (until I read 1984).

I'm in the same boat as Nute.

I read Hobbit a loooong time ago, but the only copy I could find came from the school library and was missing a chunk of pages from about a third of the way through. rolleyes.gif

One of these day's I'll track down a good edition (now that it's actually possible to find them).

Of course, the Hobbit was written for children, while LotR was written for adults. There is a huge difference.

The Silmarillion is my favorite book of all time.

So Admiral where did you hear about Children of Dune, as I can not find any referance to the film anywhere?
