Admiral Odin
I just found out that in December this year Fellowship of the Ring will be in the Theaters. For Dune fans Children of Dune is coming as well. ------------------ "Dulce bellum inexpertis." (Sweet is war to those who have never experinced it.) Keyan Farlander
I think they've already finished shooting all three movies, and they are going to be released one year apart from one another. Guest garyah99
I guess my rock has been hiding me from the sun . Are they going to produce the whole trilogy this time or just the first book and forget the rest like they did 20 years ago?

Andromeda
have you actually read LotR Nutey? i'm halfway through The Two Towers right now...and i can't wait for the movies to come out i've had the books for a long time now (somebody bought them for me) and i'm just now reading them. the first one is really boring for about the first half of the book, but then it gets a whole lot better so if any of you have been daunted by it and haven't made it through, i highly recommend trying again, it's well worth it there's my $0.02 ------------------ If you live to be a hundred, i hope i live to be a hundred minus one so i never have to live without you! Admiral Odin
I have been living in a hole. I loved all three books. Few books are like LoTR, I especially like the ending. ------------------ "Dulce bellum inexpertis." (Sweet is war to those who have never experinced it.) Guest Rogue 9
I've read all of the Lord of the Rings Series as well as the hobbit far to many times to count
Nute Gunray
I read The Hobbit about a decade ago, but i've never read LOTR. I didn't think The Hobbit was all that great a book. But that might just be because right after I finished it I read Red Storm Rising, which I regarded as the best book ever for 8 years (until I read 1984). Admiral Zaarin
I have an old copy of LotR around here somewhere, but every time I try to read it I get through about 2 pages then lapse into unconsciousness.....
Flying Beastie
I'm in the same boat as Nute. I read Hobbit a loooong time ago, but the only copy I could find came from the school library and was missing a chunk of pages from about a third of the way through. One of these day's I'll track down a good edition (now that it's actually possible to find them). ------------------ It's like I always say: When the going gets tough, the tough . . . switch to artillery. Guest Conor
Of course, the Hobbit was written for children, while LotR was written for adults. There is a huge difference. The Silmarillion is my favorite book of all time.
Nute Gunray
But if you'll notice, I basically was a kid when I read the hobbit...I was 9.
