About the different single saber styles used by Tabbots

Recommended Posts

Hey razor, remember when you added the ability for Tabbots to have different single saber styles? Well, I noticed something.

There are generally two types of single saber weilding tabbots:

1. The tabbot that follows his route, runs after you and other bots when they come close to it, and accepts challenges.

2. The tabbot that ONLY sticks to his route with out pursuing anyone and does not accept challenges.

I've noticed that tabbot 1 only uses yellow style and never starts with or uses an alternate style. Tabbot 2 does start with a different style oftentimes. The problem here is that you only fight Tabbot 1 in power dual and they NEVER use any other style other than yellow. And Tabbot 2 is no fun to fight and in my opinion, this type of route only tabbot should be restricted if possible.

When you coded this, you probably didnt mean for it to happen this way, but none-the-less, it needs to change.

Oh, and heres some added humor to help those of you college students make it through this fine finals week:

mmm, I have a hard time believing this is a result of the style randomizer. It's literially one line of code that just randomly changes the bot's saber style on respawn. It won't affect the bot behavior.

Go play the code server for an hour and find out. I have several times. You wont find any challengable bots that aren't using yellow style. The odds of the randomizer choosing yellow for else of these challengable pursuing bots are impossible.

Maybe a bit offtopic, but blue style is a really friggin fast dp drainer.

It has the smallest recovery time from parries, meaning you can attack again almost instantly after you've been parried. I see blue as a defensive style and this doesnt really suggest that.

Works well as a defensive style for me. Actually, all of the (single) styles seem to work quite well as intended in terms of some being defensive and some offensive. I have yet to see any styles being used by bots aside from yellow and blue though.

I think I just figured out what really happening. I was powerdualing two single saber bots and at least one of them always started with a different style. But after a couple of swings or actions, they would switch back to yellow!! It seemed to happen the most after they threw their saber. At least now we know what to look for. Hopefully, his issus will be fixed tomarrow night.
