jonesyjonez Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 The official map editor has been release, and with it, an ALAMO EXPORTER! We can finally put models in-game! head over to http://www.lucastarts.com or http://www.ultimate-eaw.com to download the map editor and mod tools! happy modding!
JediBdm Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 problem is, its compatible with Max 6, and ONLY Max 6 Perhaps Mike could make an importer? Since petro isnt gonna release one.
zac naloen Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I still can't get over how easy it is to make modifications to this game. Since the release of this you can easily make changes to maps in the galactic conquest (i've modified several, getting rid of asteroids completely annihalates any load times.) as soon as it stops being 1.30 and is a reasonably time im gonna finish off, and then start working on adding proper scenery, like debris. Asteroids in orbit of a planet.. tsk, the only place thats even remotely canon is at Geonosis and you drew the ring round that planet already! *sigh* The fact i can make changes so easily, and i can't even code or draw textures or model or anything speaks volumes. Im so happy about these tools being released.
jonesyjonez Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 As soon as mike wakes up i'll see if he can take a look at it.
ZeJudge Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Also, some of us modders use Maya, and other 3D applications to model. That plugin is no good to alot of people.
Jeff Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Also, some of us modders use Maya, and other 3D applications to model. That plugin is no good to alot of people.I believe the reason it's only for 3DS Max is because that is what the devs used for the game.
Master Nikolaos Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Well, if that's the program they used, they should give it to people for free!!(yeah...that's gonna happen!). Otherwise, as stated above, the model tools are of little use.
