What about you?

Movies that actually scare me are pretty rare. Something I know would scare me if i would watch it, is Arachnophopia, simply because I hate spiders.

Whenever i Watch spiders in horrormovies, i always feel like they are all over me, inside my clothes and so on...

Now, for brutal horror movies, like The hills have eyes, hostel and so on.. they don't scare me at all. Because they are usually not thrilling, the story is poor and the characters are lame.

Saw 1 and 2 is another story... but I consider saw to be a thriller, not a horror movie, Saw is extremely thrilling, and a bit disgusting (especially the scene at the start of saw 2..)

Ring 1 is actually pretty good... tension almost no violence and that creepy scene where the girl comes out of the tv..

Generally Thrillers scare me far more than the "normal" horror movies.... phsycho-violence scares me, physical does not really..

So, best Horror movie ever? Hostel  , for violent ones ( i regret watching it) and.. Silence of the lamps as one of the movies which scared me the most.

The Descent is currently the top dog in my horror movie list, it was absolutely scary. I was literally shaking in my socks when watching it. Long live Neil Marshall!

First Halloween movie still gets me even when I watch it in daylight, mostly because the eerie theme, and the way the Great Carpenter builds up tension. Same goes to Assault On Precint 13 and The Thing, single best movie ever made.

Dead Birds came right around the corner when I watched it. I was shocked: actually creepy new american horror movie! And I would be an idiot not to mentioning Trilogy of the Dead, by none other than George Romero. I should see Land of the Dead sometimes.

Original Ringu managed to scare me s***less, whereas new movie, while being also creepy, just didn't had same impact as the original. I also recommend seeing Dario Argento's "Suspiria", which has some excellent tension made by music (composed by Argento's loyal Goblin) and damn good camerawork. Someone also mentioned Jacob's Ladder, which is also very good, if bit confusing at times.

Then there is very underrated Frailty, starring Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaghey and always great Powers Boothe. That movie had some great tension alongside excellent acting, I recommend it.

Hoh, I could go on and on, but better stop before I list about twenty movies more. :)

Quite true about brutal horror movies, they usually make me feel disgusted rather than scared. The new Hills Have Eyes was bit of a disappoitment because it lacked the tension original had, but western horror movies usually rely more on blood and brutality, whereas in east they like to toy with the viewer and quite often involve supernatural forces.
