Uninstall: Endless loop

I played KOTOR a while ago, when it was released. Then I uninstalled it somehow (Don't recall if I used uninstall or just removed it manually, but I rarely do the later. Only if uninstall doesn't work).

I noticed it wasn't removed from the Add/Remove list in Control Panel.

Several times after this, I've noticed it and tried removing it again, but after getting the option to remove savegames or not, it says "Finish" though it proves not to be.

It remains on the list and I can go through another uninstall, and another, and over and over again. No matter what option I choose (Delete savegames or not), it doesn't happen in reality (Though the uninstall program seems to believe it did its job).

Is there a way to manually remove every KOTOR thing in my computer? I cannot seem to install the game again either, as it wants me to uninstall first. But that is impossible :|

Try this handy little program :)

Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Thank you for the suggestion :) Though it doesn't find KOTOR on the list :( It only shows some applications and a few games. Or am I just looking in an uncomplete list?

EDIT: The game I have is KOTOR 1, not 2, if you are referring to that KOTOR 2 is using Windows Installer?

oh.. well crap, apparantly the one thing that your un-install did manage was to remove it from the Add/Remove Programs List... figures :xp:

The program will only work if there is still an entry in the Add/Remove list in Windows... if that isn't there but your system is still recognizing that some element of the game still exists.. then I hate to say (and hopefully someone else can suggest something) that it may require diving into your registry and manually hash out some entries...

Since I haven't done this personally, I'd really like to not suggest entries you can try deleting... mistakes in the registry are bad... very bad...

One of the more experienced registry hackers might be able to help more than I can, but I'll still keep an eye out for a solution for you :)

In any case, it might be a good idea to go ahead and backup your registry as I think others may suggest to start going in there and deleting all sorts of things.. hehehe ;)
