Stupid .jrl files.

Okay, I'm attempting to combine the .jrl files from the Dark Apprentice mod, and the fix for the Telos Fuel. I'm using K-GFF, and I can see the added Structs. However, I can't copy/paste it to the fixed .jrl.

So, anybody know a way to do this or am I screwed?

Are you trying to do a copy node? Or what is the process that your doing. It could be a glitch in K-GFF.

It is easier ro do with Kotor Tool.

That may not necesarily be the case. I use a gff editor more frequently than KT because of the more direct control of the GFF file and allows me to experiment more.

*To Everybody* when somebody is having problems with a certain technique for modding such as troubles with a tool. It is always better to try to help them figure out the problem rather than point them in the direction of another tool. I've noticed alot of people saying to get "X" or "Y" item into the game with KSE when frequently somebody is asking for help on how to place items into the game. This isn't helpful to the modder and just clutters there thread.

Also telling people one tool is better than another tool developed by members of the same community is like slapping one tool maker in the face and then patting another on the back. TK, Fred, Stoffe, JDNoa, & Cchagrin have all worked hard to fill niches for tools within our community and frequently these different tool makers have made use of the work that one of the others has done so as to further improve upon there original tool. So to say one is better than another is really more counterproductive to the community. One last note many of the tool developers would like to know about glitches in the re programs so that they can be fixed and threads like these are how these developer's sometimes discover there tool has a bug that they need fixing.

Hello! :) Welcome to the Forums.

I would have answered your question quicker, but I had to find some resources online. Sorry for the wait.

Some tips:

1. global.jrl (Use T-KGFFEditor.)

2. globalcat.2da (Use Fred's KotOR Tool.)

3. Here is a resource: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143372

4. If you open up DAP's readme, I made a small list of changes I made to these files. After you open the global.jrl & globalcat.2da, you will be able to look them up by number.

5. You need to know some small stuff, so I would read the resource page in number 3 carefully. There are things you can miss, so pay close attention to details. Example: After you add -1 to the PlanetID box, you need to hit the enter key. You cannot just hit tab.

6. You can easily copy & paste from one file to the next. Sometimes the GFFEditor is a little touchy. That is oky. Just edit the file with some patience.

I hope this helps in getting you started.

If you cannot copy & paste into the discription area, and it is still grayed out, you must hit the enter key after editing each box in the GFFEditor. If you don't hit the enter key, the gray discription area stay gray. It is a little touchy, so take your time.
