Paro Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 By any chance, did you had your OJP game server(MeatGrinder?) flooded lately? Or any weird people joining and spamming over 1024byt messages to crash server?
Vruki Salet Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 lol maybe it's someone testing the server's sv_floodprotect reaction!!! (No i;m just kiddingg, it's not me *really* i'm just joking)

Just checking because after 10-15minutes after I disabled password on our server some script kiddie joined and started spamming crash-text(teh 1025byt say).
Lathain Valtiel Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Meatgrinder got killed for a few minutes by connection flooding. Nasty stuff, that. But yeah, nothing you can really do about it unless ensimod tells us what he did and Razor throws it into Basic.

That would be really nice. When I banned the spamming intruder then after few minutes(!) the server lagged and eventually became unaccessable. After an hour it was normal again though...
Paro Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 I don't have that kind of 'option' with the current hosting. When it crashes, our host must restart it...
Lathain Valtiel Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Really? Ouch. That sounds horrifically limited... you may want to look into another server host... like, say, escapedturkey?
Paro Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 Lathain Valtiel wrote: Really? Ouch. Indeed... This thread seems pointless to spam about unless someone actually posts the 'fix' for flooding.
Lathain Valtiel Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Eh, you'd have to wait until somebody compiles the fix into another Basic release... ho hum.
razorace Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 From what ensiform stated, it sounds like it's a engine related issue. From what I can tell, it sounds like you gotta run another engine executable to fix it.
