Forum Rule #7

Totenkopf

Recommended Posts

7. Mods containing assets (models, textures, sounds, etc.) ported from another game are prohibited

It is against Lucasarts policy to port assets from one game to another. Holowan Laboratories does not condone porting of this nature, and moderators will close or delete any thread or posts discussing such mods, even if it is for your own personal use. The exception to this is if the asset in question is present in both KOTOR and TSL. Modders may create from scratch mods that resemble assets from another game.

Just how closely can the mods resemble assets? For instance, I was never quite happy with the female portrait selections in KOTOR 1 and thought that the most attractive head was in TSL (blond with almost shoulder length/feathered hairdo). How closely could you mod this portrait for the first game w/o violating the above rule? Thanks.

If all the work is your own, you have nothing to worry about. You could make a skin that looks exactly like it as long as you don't use the original model or textures. The rule is against porting, it's not against making replicas ;).
