Darth Zodiac
Recently, I've been having some very weird graphics errors in both KOTOR games, and the problem seems to have just appeared for no apparent reason. I haven't played either game for several months, but everything was perfectly fine when I last played them. However, I started up both games again a few days ago, and I got some very distorted graphics. The problem is too weird to describe, so I took some screenshots (the top row is KOTOR 1 and the bottom row is KOTOR 2: TSL): Here are my system specs: OS: Windows XP Home Edition CPU: Intel Pentium 4, 2.80 GHz RAM: 1024 MB Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500, 256 MB, ForceWare version 91.31 I've never seen nor heard of any graphics errors quite like this, so I have no idea what happened since I last played either KOTOR game or how to fix this problem. Can anyone help me?
Lomall
It may be your video card drivers. I know from experience that the 80 series ForceWare drivers interfered with KotOR 2 by raising the lag until it was about half a frame per second. They were causing problems with the 3D modeling program Maya as well so I have been using 77.77 ever since. Its possible that the 90 Series drivers have replaced one problem with another. -- Ask around on some other forums that are visited more often and see if any one else is having the same problem. A good place would be Gamespot or 1up. -- You can also try rolling it back to the 70 series drivers and see what happens. EDIT -- Rolling the drivers back may prevent you from running other games. Currently I can't play Star Wars: Battlefront 2 with the 77.77 drivers installed.
Darth InSidious
I don't know if this is a solution, but a long time ago, I experienced similar effects on a game (not KotOR, but anyhow), when I switched from "Primary Display Driver" to "Software"...Dunno if that helps or not... Aayla Offee
Hmm...that happened to me ONCE a very long time ago-- I thought it was kind of cool...but it only lasted for about 2 minutes. It has never happened since.
HerbieZ
Your Dantooine looks like Korriban. All i can say is turn your screen resolution down a notch, seemed to cure what ailed my Kotor. At least until i reinstalled it...
