Guest The Feral Chicken
How many of them have you read, how many do you own, which is your favourite and which is your least favourite? I have read 15 of them, own 21 (3 signed!),my fave is Men At Arms and my least fave is Hogfather. It would appear that Monkey Island Humour and Discworld humour are very similar... ------------------ Feral
Kingzjester
Haven't read a single one, played all three games though. People are making me read Pratchett, but I haven't gotten to that. First Dostoyevsky, T.S. Eliot, Nietzsche, Joice and other facists... Haven't you noticed that all great writers of the last two centuries were extreme bastards (save Zola, Kafka, Heller, &c.)? ------------------ -Yorick the King's Jester
Frenchyd
OMIGOD! ARH! I'm sorry if this offends you, but here I go. This kid in my class named Dave, (smelly dave ) was doing a presentation on those Disc thingies. I'm sorry but they sound utterly counFUSING, and... weird. but each to their own. maybe i have to be smart to get it P.S. Sorry again I just wanted to post my OPINION. ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/liquid_water4/ Visit my site? and Sign the guestbook? and visit my NEW forum? the_xxxxx
Yeah Discworld rocks! I read every book that has appeard here in Holland (Hogfather is the newest). I loved men at arms, I didn't like equal rites. I think there are a lotta DW fans here. Those who loved MI but don't know DW: read it, you'll love it. Btw am I the only one who's seeing connections between MI & DW? Like Stan&Dibbler, or Guybrush&Rinzwind, the're pretty much the same? Guest The Feral Chicken
I agree with evertything you said; Equal Rites came to nothing, really, didn't it? I think it was just introducing the witches (OK, only Weatherwax, but still...) FrenchyD: Discworld SOUNDS confusing and weird, but they're great fun..try them, I'm sure you'll like them! ------------------ Feral
MagnusB
Pratchett must be the single most funny man alive, and a great writer too. The humour is the same absurd one that you will find in MI. Everyone on this forum should read it.
