JackBaldy
Is there any way to remove that? Thanks in advance.
razorace
mmm, I suppose you could turn the idle saber damage debounce cvar way up. That would do about the same thing.
JackBaldy
What do you mean? I tried turning several cvars way up but it ended up making the saber intangible. Making saber hits go right through it. This might be the origin of lightning parries, which raises mishaps like a damn son of a ****. lol

It's funny, on Fearis the dueling platform is all chunky, you try to hit someone and you fall back with full mishap.
JackBaldy
That isn't the only way it can happen. Ask JRHockney. It happened to him many times and we were in the same elevation, and the reason I believe that the origin of the problem is saber clashing/idle saber damage is because when lightning parries occur you notice multiple quick saber clash effects. razorace
g_saberDmgDelay_Idle, that's the cvar.
JackBaldy
If I raise it up very high it makes the saber invisible. I think it may have to do with the following. "g_saberDmgDelay_Idle & g_saberDmgDelay_Wound now control how often often hits against the exact same target will register. This is to prevent the damage levels and saber/dodge behavior from acting differently when you're using a higher sv_fps setting. This translates to more consistant damage as well." JRHockney and I were checking out cvars and when we raised it through the roof so that these lightning parries stopped happening, JRHockney's saber continued to go through my intangible saber (the hits not registering because it was too high). I don't think these lightning parries can be fixed with any cvars, I have tried many cvars and no luck on my part.
Maxstate
Weird though.. I've been playing OJP for so long, I've probably spent up in the hundreds of hours on the newest builds and I've also racked up my fair share of kill, and never have I noticed anything like this unless I was fighting on stairs or on specific maps with ****ty elevations. I'll have to take your word for it I guess.
JackBaldy
I wouldn't sound as stupid if I had JRHockney backing me up, because I did do most of this testing with him... *glares at JRHockney* Could it be that mp/duel10 has certain factors that contribute to these 'lightning parries'? Sushi_CW
I've experienced them for some time now, without apparent regard to map.

Not sure. We'll have to experiment playing other maps, but it should be a general thing. I'll keep an eye out for them in my bot battles as well, but I havent noticed anything in the past that seemed weird enough notice. But as bad as those lightning parries were at mp/duel10, this definitely needs attention. THey pretty much all happened on flat ground (mainly because me and jack stayed off the stairs).
