lukeiamyourdad
EAST SIDE RULZ!!! Anyway, anyone else saw the Superskills talent competition and the Youngstars game? Both won by the East? If you didn't, you missed nice goals from Sidney Crosby. He's younger then me, makes and will make more money then me. Life is so unfair. Ovechkin, on the other hand, seriously sucked. Couldn't get anything right. Credit to the West's goalies though. Luongo was great, except against Crosby, but he's got an excuse. Turco was also pretty good. Only Kiprusoff didn't do a great job. The Youngstars game sucked though. Not fun to watch at all. Lots of nice goals and I understand it's not supposed to be a serious game, but after a while, I wanted blood and just wished for someone to check somebody really hard. Fun hockey night though. I always loved those talent competition. Tomorrow night, the All-star game!
ET Warrior
Talent competition is okay to watch, but All-Star games are ALWAYS lame. Part of what makes hockey hockey is the physical play, the crushing hits, and the team strategy. You lose all of this in an All-Star game. I no like. Commander Obi-Wan
Man, and the NHL wants to attract more of an American audience and they have an All-Star game that is lacklustre. No hitting and too much passing. They could add a little spice to it. Like have it in Las Vegas. Every goal you get you get $10,000 and every assist you get $5000. Every hit $1000. And stuff similar to that. Or have the the Vets versus the younger stars. The Older players probably wouldn't want to be embarrassed by the young stars. So, they both may try. They should just add something to attract people. The game was pretty bad. But, it has scoring. Which you don't see here in Edmonton much anymore. Not one penalty or hit. LAME. The Skills competition was okay. I turned it on during the hardest shot. I don't mind watching that. But, eh, they should add some spunk to it. ET Warrior
Not one penalty or hit. That is what all of the All-Star games are like. That is why I don't watch All-Star games. They're a waste of a weeks worth of hockey, in my opinion.

Football, Hockey, and possibly basketball are bad to watch, IMO. Baseball isn't that bad. Since you don't expect baseball players to hit each other (intentionally), but they are still quite boring. They mind as well just give the players a week off, instead of the all-star week.
lukeiamyourdad
Well, you have to understand that nobody wants to get injured for a pointless game. If it disappeared, I guess they would keep a week of vacation or so for the players. Everyone needs a "mid-term" break. The last good All-stars game in collective memory was in 87, the NHL versus the Soviets. Of course, the geopolitical situation isn't the same today. Maybe Muslim countries versus the NHL All-Star...I never said anything.
Commander Obi-Wan
Well, you have to understand that nobody wants to get injured for a pointless game. Exactly, and that's why nobody really cares to watch it. Maybe Muslim countries versus the NHL All-Star...I never said anything. Well, if they did, can you name any Muslim hockey players? And even if this happened, I'd doubt many players would want to play it (expect the Redneck hockey players ). So, I think a week break would do fine. Since every two years, there is the Word Cup of Hockey and the Winter Olympics. So, they should just skip the All-Star week(end) and just names out a first and second All-star team like they usually do at the end of the season. Yet, Gretzky, Messier, Lemieux and more have participated in that 2 game contest. I guess it would be a big trashing and people would see racism and other stuff about it...bah, I never said anything. Commander Obi-Wan
Though, I don't know if you have heard of the "Asian Winter Games" but Ice Hockey happens to be included in these games. The United Arab Emirates are playing and so are Kuwait. So, it is possible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_Hockey_at_the_2007_Asian_Winter_Games Just thought I'd let you know.
