Has anyone played Final Fantasy?

I've only played 7-9 but their amazing!

I love em.

I've just completed FF9 and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me on a playstation.

I sincerely reccomend buying it.

If you do you will never regret it EVER!

i played FF2 and 3 on my NES about 6 years ago - haven't played any of the modern ones though - im not a major rpg fan really they take too much time raising fighting skills and things like that you get bored after a while, usually before you've had time to complete the thing.

not the same as before

We might as well just throw it all

I'm the first one on these forums to say I love Final Fantasies - definetely. I've played partly trough:

-FF III

-FF V

-FF VII

-FF IX

and completely trough:

-FFVIII

And I've loved every minute spent with them - they have great atmosphere, great musics, great characters - and they're more adventure games than RPG's if you ask me smile.gif

Monkey Island is an adventure game!

The only RPG element it has is the fact you follow a story, but then again, doesn't every game?

An RPG would have character stats, battles, the like. Things that affect the whole course of the game.. I don't see this in Monkey Island.

You do everything that's needed in MI, in RPG's, you dont.

MegaMonkey: Have you completed FFXI yet?

If not I won't spoil it for you but I warn you get a box of tissues ready.

It's the most heart throbbing thing you'll ever see on a playstation or pretty much anywhere else for that matter.

People who don't like rpg's: If you don't like them then just give FFXI a go. It dosent take ages levelling.

(as much as i love monkey, the storyline is a zillion times better than a wannabe pirate chasing a ghost pirate everywhere).

When you finish it you'll not be able to get it out of your head.

In fact i'm gonna write a review for my mates page now.

OH! And the music is so beautiful....no i know a better way to describe it.

You know that warm felling when your hairs stand up on the back of your neck? And you go all fuzzy inside. THAT'S Final Fantasy 9

Brighteyes, didn't they teach you Roman numerals in school? If they did, how did you get your hands on FFXI? I'd like to know.

Anyways, I'm just a newbie to Final Fantasy, I've beaten 7 and 8 and I'm on the last disc of 9. I didn't like RPGs at all, I hated them. Then I played FFVII and I fell in love with it. Even if you don't like RPGs I seriously recommend that anyone who wants to play a quality game go out and buy either FFVII or FFIX. It will change your perspective on RPGs forever.

The rpg's I liked was the classic kind, like Eye of the Beholder, Black Crypt (amiga-only?), and Elvira. I don't really like rpg's today, except from the Final Fantasy series. These I don't count as an RPG. The only RPG it has is fighting, and building the character's stats. Otherwise it's much more an adventure than an RPG. FF7-9 are very good, although 8 are the weakest (i think). Haven't played the other ones. FF9 was for me one of my greatest gaming experience since Monkey Island 2 on the Amiga.
