SithRevan
Well it's always nice to see a fresh face at our humble forums. So welcome and enjoy your stay. Now about those tut's, here is a list of a couple place where you can find some pretty helpful ones... General Tutorials: http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=592 Skinning and modeling: http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=595 .2da Editing: http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=596 Scripting: http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=597 Misc. Tutorials: http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/info/Tutorials Now on to tips... first off I would recommend starting out small with maybe a robe reskin then gradually start going into other fields then eventually when you are good at what you do (which I am sure you will be ) you can start going into even bigger harder projects. Anyway, I hope this post gives you a good start and all of the tools you may require for your journeys into the world of Kotor modification. Good luck and don't worry about what version of the game the tutorials are for as the games are pretty similar (with the exception of thier coding differences) but you will get used to that. So again good luck and may the force be with you on your trails.
Mindtwistah
I recommend this tutorial extremly much: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=130451 That will learn you two of the most common thing in modding; Dialog editing and Module editing. It was that tutorial that made me start modding. It really explains everything. After that, modding will become easy and a natural part of life Thanks DoomDealer.
